Weight Reduction - Car or Driver?

edit: i didn't think it was a typo, I took it to mean he lived in his truck.

fortunately all weight reduction improves steering response, increases acceleration, improves braking and gas mileage, and makes the car less hard on parts including wear items (tires, brakes, clutch). i would say if your racing, and 100lbs overweight, you definately will want to make an effort to reduce your own mass.... but obviously lossing 100lbs can take a while, whereas replacing the stock exhaust with a light weight one can save 50lbs and is removed in an hour.

It is my firm belief that the reason so many go muscle cars is to make up for their weight with horsepower. A very limited few try to do it with an import but I would argue they should ditch the auto trannies to save weight.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Currently, both.
Track car has no rear seats, spare, tools, cover, lighter coil-overs, light rims for track use. More on deck now. Ill start a thread in Other Cars when I really go to town.
And driver weight does help...albeit, its easier to cut crap off a car than loose 10 lbs.
In a few months, I will have something you will be interested in
Its a secret right now
