Here is a close up so you can see how the bolt goes through the plate and through an opening in the mesh with a washer and nut on the inside.

I thought I might post some info to help avoid any ticket altogether.

1. If your pulled over NEVER stop on a busy street. Pull into a parking lot or a side residential street. This endangers the officer and you both.

This simple thing of getting completely off the highway and into a safe parking lot puts the officers at ease greatly.

2. Stop your engine. I dont care if its 110 degrees out side or negative 32. a loud car will **** them off fast, when they are trying to have a conversation with you. Turn the radio OFF 100%, not down, but off.

3. Roll your windows down all 4 of them 100% DOWN if you have a sunroof open the thing all the way. The more light and visibility... This is the BIGGEST one.. the safer the officer feels.

4. Put BOTH hands HIGH on the steering WHEEL and keep them there until hes bedside your car.. NEVER start rooting thru your car looking for your license or insurance. Just sit still where that cop can see your hands.

Swallow a bit of pride and use the words "Yes officer" and "No officer" Remember you can always beat the RAP.... not the RIDE.

5. When and if the officer asks for your license and insurance tell him exactly what your going to do. Example. " Officer my insurance is located in my glovebox and Im going to lean over, open it, and get it from there" I know this sounds silly but I have gotten out of so many tickets by being submissive, cooperative, and respectful.

I personally have been driving now for 25 years and never gotten a ticket for a no front plate, registration issues. etc. This trick also works for the no front plate. "Officer I had a small fender bender recently in a parking lot and I had to have my bumper replaced, painted, repaired and the shop forgot to re-attach it. Im so sorry about this and I will fix it as soon as I pick it up from them. Thanks for reminding me" This one works like 100% of the time, at least for me. And I have only been confronted with no plate 2 times.

I personally like the plate to the side, looks weird in the middle...

But I ran my car with no front plate ever since I bought it back in 05. I would get pulled over once every 2-4 months for the plate and NEVER got a ticket, all warnings. Being polite and respectful gets you far!

This year has been crazy though. Earlier in the year I was getting pulled over once every 2-3 weeks but again, only received warnings. A few times I was leaving the bar after a few drinks( never drove wasted, or drove more then the speedlimit) and straight up told the officers I had been drinking but at an easy pace...never once got arrested or even a ticket those times.ALL WARNINGS. All my friends just can not believe the luck I have with cops, neither can I for that matter. Trick is to be polite, respectful, and honest no matter how serious things might be. They will eventually find out the truth and see through lies so always be straight up with them.

But...I recently gave in and purchased a beatrush plate holder that doesn't require drilling, just tired of getting pulled over ALL the time.

I am always very polite to officers even when in trouble for bs. I have only recieved a lisense plate ticket in pantego by a new officer, he did not care that it had ripped off by a car wash my girlfriend took my car through. I even had the plate and holder in the back seat. I actually had a FTW officer laugh about the fact that I got one... Most of the large jursidictions will not bother with it if you are polite as mentioned earlier, but the smaller hungry ones will get you for what they can. It is easily dismissed if you can show a pic with the liscense plate on but I am sure that multiple offenses will not fly.
