Potential Second Location for MAP...NTEC Style ;)
Yes we do, Khumla at Kustomz, tam at evod, tony at t1, Denver is the man as well. My point is Dallas is well stocked with performance shops why come to a market that you'll have a hard time competing in. Maybe if you were English Racing/ Awd you would have some converts but you're not.
The Monday this was going to be announced was weeks ago. So if we are not going to make a decision based on the populous, what are you going to base it on? I am getting tired of crying comments that Austin and San Antonio don't have enough tuners/shops because the don't have enough cars worthy to warrant it. Krylon is cheap guys, buy some, spray it, and feel faster!

There is a big difference between a shop/guy that does occasional fab work and a shop with a full line of production pieces. I highly doubt MAP would have a hard time competing in any market they enter, especially Dallas/Texas with the amount of enthusiasts we have...not to mention many of the people down here are already regular customers of MAP. The Minneapolis market was also saturated with local performance shops when they first got into the game.
Let's not get offtopic about evod and awd, I can see this getting ugly if some of the rumors are spread even further.
I think MAP will do great in any of the Texas cities mentioned. I have almost ordered from them exclusively and the prices are awesome and service great. Shipping can be slow, but it's free so I can't complain.

You obviously don't travel outside of the DFW area often.
if your business is good then its good, people will come from all over the place. doesnt matter if its in dfw or freaking el paso. but any who ill vote dfw but if you guys decide to move to austin it gives me a reason to go check outt the shop and PARTY too.
I honest to god wish a REAL shop with a decent dyno would open up in El Paso. But frankly I understand that is not very optimal as West Texas is seriously the armpit of the state. But as far as cost and competition, both would be rather low. All of your choices are a good 8 hours away.
Now I've bought from you guys on quite a few occasions including my most recent purchase last Thursday of your intake manifold and some other stuff and I've been very happy working with you guys. That being said, I'm voting for Dallas. A lot closer than MN.

I have seen MAPs quality and do not have any complaints however a guy that does occasional fab work is not Khumla. The dude is good. For me to trust anyones life with one of his cages says a lot, there is only one other person I am willing to say that about and that is Nate dawg customs in Pa. Map is quite capable of making one piece, a jib and allowing it to be replicated over and over again however true talent shines through when you are doing everything one off and having it come out better than anyone expected. Not hating on MAP just saying there are people better.
Haha, I guess you missed our fab thread.
You also might be interested in the manifolds we are making for an SRT-10 Dodge Ram, and the custom one-off manifolds we make for evo's.

"One-off" downpipe for a T28 Miata, there were pie-cuts, pipe ovaling, bends, transitions, and a bunch of other procedures in this piece.

How about our drag car?

I think everyone here has a blurred conception of what, and who we are. You can drop off an evo for a full build and every single thing will be done in house.
Boring, Honing, Resurfacing, Serdi 3.0, valve cutting, and clean assembly room all in house. Only part of our engine building program that is done outside of our doors is crank balancing and polishing. That machine is ridiculously expensive and someone very close to us has a top-of-the-line machine for this, so there is no reason to spend the money on the machine.
With our "jib" products as you like to say, all those pieces were once hand made then transferred over to a JIG. When we pump out 30+ o2 dumps a month, countless o2 eliminators, and EVO X direct bolt on manifolds that make 40+whp on a BBK equipped car mind you, you bet that every single one will be made on a jig for 100% guaranteed fitment.
We here at MAP can do everything, and would like to eliminate the rareness of a shop that can do everything IN-HOUSE across the USA, possibly outside of the USA
. We are all about keeping off other shop's toes, that is why we are looking in the Houston and Austin area. However DFW is also still on our minds, it will just take some more convincing to plop down in DFW.This will all be STARTED before MARCH. I will be down there living and breathing business before the end of March, door will open soon after. Main focus of the new shop will be Service and Dyno. However I will be there (ADAM) selling parts to walk in customers and phoners. Not to mention I will still be dominating on EVOM
.Cheers!
