Pointless NTEC chat thread
Thank you Tom. I will go talk with the guys that do custom rims over here and see if they can coat it. I like my rims dirty more due to darker color so I keep it dirty lol.

Safety first, no such thing as too much maintenance.

I also did my transfer case and rear differential fluids again today (last done 6 months/11k miles ago).

owned lol. I just ordered some new spark plugs... I got em from ams as they were the cheapest with shipping for me. I think I am loosing it... I plasti dipped the mitsubishi emblem that I took off my trunk so I can put it in the front, oh and the kicker is that I havent had my car for 2 weeks now and wont have it another week (maybe 2 more)... I am getting a sister connection done to my blitz so I can unplug the unit whenever I want to as well...

What did you pay from AMS for the spark plugs? MAP can get the NGK's for $60/set shipped and I bet Don Herring could do $65/set shipped for the OEM NGK's. I personally like supporting shops that help support NTEC, even if it costs me a few extra bucks.
if you paid AMS' website price of $17/each plus shipping.

I paid 70 bucks shipped, I guess I should have gotten it from DH or MAP (not for 5 bucks but to support). I was thinking about going with NGKs instead went with OEM. I am still a complete noob at this modding and buying parts.

OEM = NGK
Same plugs, different box.
Quick newb lesson for you: AMS = $$$, they mark-up everything, pretty much anyone (MAP, Cobb, etc.) will be cheaper, even on AMS branded parts. I honestly don't think I've ever bought direct from AMS, even for my AMS stuff.

It is not recommended by the manufacturer to attempt gapping iridium plugs, the tip is far to delicate to take the chance, not to mention you shouldn't have to unless it was damaged. They should be checked and if found to be out of spec return them. I went with HKS plugs, 1 step colder, some say you should go a step colder for every 100hp over stock, all I know is I was able to get another 1* timing across the map with the 9's over my old stockers. I bought the HKS 50003-M45XL plugs for about $99 shipped, I am running mid-27's with pump gas.
