I'd rather have the better/cheaper AMS option. My 2-cents...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ proof???
the mangus AND the AMS require grinding and drilling into the firewall in a VERY tight location.. making the job extremely hard since i am doing it myself...
so i need some proof of the failure you speak of please,.... before i pull the trigger on returning it..

Yea cobb won't touch them, and there's a ton of threads. Just search. They're on their 4th revision because each design thus far has failed on users. The only true tested solution is the magnus, and the ams is almost an identical copy - though they'd argue they didn't steal the design. Either one works, I have the magnus b/c I got it a while ago. And the cmc is one of the only things on my car that's never had an issue ;-)
ok i am reading and reading ALOT of threads ..... one 7 or 8 page thread said a guy had an issue with leaky seals on the SSP but they sent him free "new designed" seals and he has had no problem for about 13K... the "latest revision" has the new seals and everyone seems to say that there is no issue with the kit. I dont blame a company at all for doing the retrofits to make things better... especially since this is a complete replacement and not just a bracket for a IX CMC.... the part should be here today... i will put it on and let you all know the results i guess...
AMS says easy install no modification required. Plus is a proven IX mc. And cheaper.
"Like all AMS products, we set out to create the best solution possible. AMS Engineers utilized AutoCAD and a CMM arm to precisely measure the factory EVO X master cylinder and firewall itself in order to machine a counter-bored adapter plate that fits flawlessly.* In addition, we made a system that installs easily and includes all necessary hardware as well as detailed installation instructions."

quotes from other guys who installed mangus and AMS....
does any of this sound easy??? "impact pry bar" ..."hammer" ... "dremel"

"Yeah and yes u have to bleed the brakes. Because u have to take the brake booster completely out.. But that part was really easy.. The studs are by far the hardest part of the install.. I used a impact pry bar and hammer to get the studs to start to seperate then a set of vice grips to twist them out .. It was about a 3 hr install.. Not too bad I guess.if I had to do it again I could do it faster.. If you have basic mechanical skills u can bust it out.. "
and......
"I installed both I had to remove the brake booster to get the ssp one in too. As for the magnus, the studs I used a dremel to grind them down then took a phillips head screw and knocked them out. It takes a while to grind them down so be very patient. I used a long magnet to get behind the firewall and push the bolt threw."

AMS instructions say you have to grind stuff on the fire wall, still looks easy
