Wat the hell is it like when one of these cars finally makes boost? Look that those graphs. It's like... prius, prius... involuntary bowel release.

Those are even worse than Acree's car. I don't remember exactly how much Acree was pushing when he gave me a ride but I got the same feeling in his car as when I rode a rollercoaster for the first time. That feeling you get when you descend down the Titan at Six Flags where your insides just kind of float up to your throat...I got that same feeling in Acree's car. I would imagine that feeling would be worse in a 700+hp car.

I can't speak for any of the 6XXX turbos, but with the increased displacement and black, my car is better than any stock turbo 2L setup for DD, I can assure you. The lag is literally non-existent. I'm in positive pressure by 1900, and 30psi by 4000. Best part is, I put down 250 ftlbs at 3k. Around town, this thing feels great.

The 2.4/Black combo is killer for DD for sure. I wish the 4b11 and 4b12 were like the 4g's where we could use the other block.

According to FPs website, the black has a 67mm turbine and 82mm compressor. So in essence, its a 6782?

Doesn't quite equate that way, no. A t3 5857/5858 (AMS 750R) makes more power than a black on the X platform, and about the same on the 8/9. 6262 is bigger, 6266 even more so, 6766 is insane. 6766 is the largest t3 turbo on the market. Nobody has gone back to back vs the HTA3794, but the pte turbo has made more power

I'm not even going to attempt to try to understand turbocharger engineering. I'll stick with the electrical stuff.

To add to the off topic nature of the thread, check out the first full race build of the new Toyota GT86 (FR-S/BRZ) I have seen. It is absolutely stunning.

^^^ That is awesome! I just wish that they would release the STI version, or at least promise that they will. I read that the compression ratio on the NA motor will be 12.5:1. It is going to be really dangerous to turbo that engine. But I'm sure Greddy will do it (and then we will never see it again because it blew up).

Yeah I agree on motor needing some type of forced induction. I can certainly appreciate the thought process behind having the motor NA in a light car, but I don't believe it's powerful enough for the weight, or light enough for the power.

There are many many aspects of my 1990 Miata with 100hp that I love above and beyond my 600hp Evo. But that car is also 700 pounds lighter than the GT86 and 1200 pounds lighter than the evo!

The built up above has a 2.6L built cosworth engine out of a WRX. They are amazing for 700hp.
