Holiday,

I have filled up on both the E85 from the sheets in monroeville and the Sunoco on the turnpike and it has been consistently on 82%. It took a tank or two in order for it to get up that high, it was probably working the 93 out of the system, but it has been at 82 and holding strong, so I am pretty sure we are still on the summer mix. I will post back if anything changes in the next few weeks. How was the weekend pittsburgh?

Dont forget its getting colder.....that alone will raise IDC at the same boost levels.
My AFR's were more of a result of everything I changed and not intentional... only my laziness was intentional haha... Now that I am back to playing with the car again and I can achieve some good logs with consistent boost I will start pulling fuel

Well, made a final decision on tuning. Going to see what Nate @ TPG tuning can do. His tuning prices are more than I intended on spending, but I'm willing to spend it solely for piece of mind - also excited to see what numbers he can put down. Getting 1000cc's, plugs, and map switch to rock E85.

Jim, I'll let you know when I get a date worked out with Nate and J&S Dyno. Hopefully, it will be soon so I can get out to the drag strip before the season ends. Officially excited!

I know nobody cares about POS DSM's but the racing season is over, so here goes.

Took my buddies POS GSX to the track the other day:

Made over a dozen passes slowly working on the launch and then I finally realized that he was going to need more power, so I made some adjustments for him and we gave the car a half hour break. Ended up with the 10 second slip that he and I wanted and of course, as always, drove it 70miles home

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBaR1...layer_embedded

I really like this car and actually spent as much time working on it this year as I did my own. Its really amazing that it holds together as well as it does, but we have been doing this for a few years so we know how to keep parts alive. We keep expecting the stock 90 tx case with a billion miles on it to go at any time. It was ran without any fluid for 15 miles after a transmission change a couple years back and that sucker still loves it.

Old school ecu w/chips done by me. MAFT, stock billion mile bottom end with balance shafts, head built by us, stock headbolts/headgasket, shep stage 4 welded center diff (makes seven eleven parking lots fun), stock axles, 3040 lbs w/driver, PTT clutch, 1200cc/min injectors, stock intake/TB, cams, kinetic FMIC which I had modified to be more reliable, tial bov, tial external, tdo5h 20g (approx size of stock evo 9 turbo).

The owner drives it to Long Island and back a couple times a year. Gets really good gas mileage

I need to put a cage in it for him this winter and we are going to do a few small things to reduce weight and increase reliability. We would like it to run consistent 10.80-10.90 passes all day long and still be able to be driven all over pa, ohio, maryland, and jersey to attend racing events and be driven home.

We only get 1.60X. We are looking more for 1.50-1.52's at this venue but the track had no VHT layed down that day, only the VHT from the event held the day earlier (were were at a T&T). Maybe next year we can have those sixties. We will be making a few small changes over the winter aiming for better short times while increasing consistency and reliability.

Jeff - since it is a CF replacement of the factory front aero lip, i assume it would be the same as how mine is mounted. If you still need help, i can look at how mine is mounted and snap a few pics when i get home.

Did you go with the Tein S-Techs? I am torn between getting springs or a coilover set. Plus, that almost 1 and a half inch drop in the front might not be street/hill friendly around here. Let me know how you like them.

go with coilovers. in my experience springs do nothing but trash your stock struts.

Its a good little purchase to have! I drive around with that exact same tool kit in my car all the time.. Although you really only need an 8mm,10mm,12mm,14mm phillips head and some hose clamps. If you break something that requires a different tool, its not something you can fix on the evo anyways

you need a spring compressor to do the springs on your car, you can skate around using one taking it off, but the chances are you will break something in the garage when you release it from the strut.. You can pick em up cheap also, and kinda nice to have.

Ya, so far that argument is what has kept me from buying anything. I hate to say it, but i want to lower the car strictly for aesthetics. I dont need competition stuff while im sitting at a redlight. Coilovers - of any sort - would be overkill, but springs tend to wear out shocks and struts if they are not revalved. I'd probably end up spending just as much to either get them taken off, revalved, and put back on (or if they blow and i have to replace them) as if i would just buy coilovers.

I dunno, i have all winter to decide.
