local Pittsburgh Meet
exactly they are actually proving that they are a championship winning team....unlike the fall in the fourth quarter steelers but hopefully they will get better when troy comes back
Yellow EVO 8 - Grove City
Anyone know this car? Wondering the "good" and "bad" of it...

thats a good bit of miles, even for an 03. Would have to go check it out in person before making an honest opinion. I hate how some people who beat the **** out of their cars say they baby it, because for most of us we do take extraordinarily good care of our cars. Then when the beaters want to sell their car they say they baby it to get more money. Then us trustworthy individuals try and make a sale and say that, it means jack over the next guy in line. Bastards. I am not saying this guy beat his car, I have never seen it before other than this ad, but it just gets under my skin how some people try and rip others off with car sales.
No opinions on the shortblock yet? I need to pull the trigger at some point...

yes, I agree, the miles are high for any car that was an 03. Thats the part I am not sure about how well the engine would hold up with those miles. The most miles I have seen on an EVO was 68,000.
Buchnerj, I would go with the AMS 2.3RR if money is not a problem. IMO it is one of the best motors out there for the EVO. It has the tq and the rev capibilities to make it a great motor. Now if you on some sort of budget I'd say a Buschur 2.0 build. The 2.3 just don't seem all that realiable for any extended high rpm driving.
Paul, glad you had fun in the EVO this past weekend. I'm sure he would agree that the car is really a blast to drive. And is wicked fast. Altho he also learned that it's no longer a drive itself AWD car like most EVO's. It really is a handful to get use to.
Oh one more thing. Who raced a black cobalt in their EVO recently in monroeville?

Also prior to my 06 I had an 04 for not even a year and put 20k miles on it....when I bought it it had 8.5k when I traded it in I was at 28.5k - this car was purchased in Oct. 05 and traded Aug of 06.
So projecting if I still had that car I would be at about 100k miles with a year newer than 2003 so tack on another 20-23k miles. So I would say that car is on par with someone who travels a lot - if one thing I know its how to put miles on a car

Not sure I would agree - I have an 06 and I have 63k miles on mine.....just turned 3 years old in August. So if mine were an 03 I would have anywhere from 115k to 130k I'd imagine? I do a lot of traveling and driving to and from my hometown, job sites, vacation etc.

oh and brian mc. has had nothing but issues with his tcase and tranny in his silver 03 evo (recently wrecked which some people saw his car a few months back on a flat bet near mcnight road
i would say 63,000 miles = 63,000 miles. That only works out to like 7,000 miles a year....which is about what I put on mine anually.....4 miles each way to work and back.....just get a carfax to check on maintenance insurance claims ect...
you get what you pay for period.. if you cant afford to maintain it dont buy it. Evo's are known to break especially ones that have gone through several owners. Its kinda like buying a lambo and worrying about the cost of tires, oil change, insurance, repairs, etc.... Before i bought my X i was stuck on either 03+ E46 M3 or a evo9 MR(voided warranty) could i afford to service them NO..
If you can come up with another 3-5K you can get a evo9 GSR with significantly lower miles.. I personally think its a better trade off instead another 3K into it if something major was wrong with it
