yeah I agree to the "pay to play".....unfortunatly thats why I dont race, I cant pay to play right now. So I sit back and watch, not as much fun but im at 28k and still have a good stock clutch, and no expensive maintenance bills yet

Too bad, kinda pissed but its one of those things that Dan said.. "You gotta pay to play"
When you were practicing were you doing back to back launches or were you giving your clutch time to cool down. The best thing to do after you launch is drive around normal for a while and let the clutch cool itself down, without stopping. Back to back launches will glaze your clutch real fast without a proper cool down period....

That was close to the case.. I did one drove for about a mile did another and finally about 30 sec later at the next red light i gave it one more try.. only once did i slip it enough to smell it though, and it must have been the time...

BTW what is teh break in period on an EXEDY HD twin plate anyways... How many miles, and what can you do diff when launching the car with that clutch if anything... Thanks to anyone that knows..

I have an exedy twin disc hd....500 mile break in. Price 1636.00 with throw out bearing and fluids i paid. Launching with the clutch is tricky. With my setup ard 6000 rpm's i slip it. It takes awhile to get use too though, lighter flywheel. Revs super fast. With my stock clutch i was pulling low 1.7's, i know thats ****ty was hoping for low 1.6's. With the exedy my best was a 1.773 running low boost 19.5 lbs, qt mile 12.017@ 115.88, but the good thing was my tune was all jacked up. Even with a ****ty tune I still pulled off 118 mph trap speeds @ 22lbs of boost. My car should have been in the high 11's ard 11.70 if i would have been running 22lbs of boost and maybe with a little better sixty foot. Like low 1.7's instead of high. I was getting too much knock though to turn it up to my normal boost level. I raced a WS-6 that ran 11.73's and it was a dead tie with my ****ty tune. Since that tune I gained 30whp on buschurs dyno and now should be 11.50's with a high 1.6 sixty foot with a trap around 120mph. Its been hard to keep steady sixty foots with that clutch. You slip it too fast and it bogs straight on its face. Too slow and you ride too long...no power for your sixty foot. You will just have to drive my car at the next meet and see for yourself. Another thing petey, your making power now and you want more. So you need a clutch that can hold what you have and more. This is the clutch you want. It hold up too 600whp!!

Yeah either Curt or my buddies evo will win. My friend Nick was at the shootout in Norwalk last weekend. On his 120 octane map, Buschur tuned him at 34lbs of boost. Made 628whp on the mustang. Nick turned it down to 30lbs because his slicks are not here yet. He also had a problem with his shortshifter popping out of first gear. He has full weight no stripping. Trap speed at 140.98mph spinning the whole time and battling his shifter. He is putting the stock one back in for this weekend!! Its going to be sick. I figure at 34lbs of boost he should be around 146 mph.
