Edit: Storing in a heated garage

Yes it will store fine......If your running it 55 gallons wont be sitting that long anyway, plus you have a heated garage - your good.

bottom line: store it properly in a well sealed drum, in a garage with consistant temps that dont reach extremes on either end of the spectrum, and your ethanol should last you a very very long time. even if you didnt have a temp controlled garage, i think you'd be fine if you got a good seal

im sure someone will try to argue me, but just my 2 cents

interesting theory, but you forgot one thing.

ninjas.

seal that drum as tight as you like, it's no match for anti-ethanol ninjas.

oh, i know a thing or two about ninjas believe me. those ********* stole 20lbs of my moms potting soil off her porch last week.

***ok ian, rub your 55 gallon drum with mayonaise and childrens tears, its the only way to ward of anti-ethanol ninjas***

Cool thanks guys... I figured there was something to do with water, 55 gallons would last me about a month or two for the amount I drive so this seems kinda feasible rather than driving to Monroeville every couple weeks... I'll have to do some searching for a good setup

i might take you up on that man. all it takes is one ninja to blind side you with a burmese round house triple sphincter kick and lets just say you wont be the prettiest guy at the coldplay concert anymore. you'll probably drool when you smile

you can get a pump that drops into a 55 allon drum with a crank.....so you could go direct to car or just pump into 5 gallon container then pour it in that way.

BTW Your one of the lucky ones you have e85 in your backyard already

HAHA........i just get concerned when I see people trying to pump ethanol in an unsafe manner.....like trying to use an electric pump to do so....or using materials that arent chemically compatible. I just feel since knowing about pumping stuff is what I do at work, it is my responsibility to prtect my fellow pittsburgh forum members....and I just did a big job for a water treatment plant using ethanol/methanol so i have become pretty familair with it... and yes they do use it for treating water.....

E85 here i com LOL
