I use Hanook W300. They are performance winter tires, but you can drive them around in the summer too. Not quite as good handling as advans, but they are great in the snow and rain.

thanks dave...ill have to do some researchin tonight but im gonna need daily use out of them and not just for winter use...ill talk to u later tonight after work
how many miles do u have on them before they wear out? i only got 7k out of the advans and i rotated them too...i autocrossed a month ago but they were already beat up before then...if they hold up a lot longer and are decent in the summer too then it sounds like a good tire to me
thanks, Jason

what did the wear on the advans look like? was it all even, concentrated around the edges, or other?
i got 8k out of mine this summer, but that was with like 14 autocrosses, 2 time trials, and 1 time at flashlight drags, plus my normal spirited daily driving.
u can see them if ud wanna meet up one night this week but before i rotated them the both front tires outer side were bald and the rest of the tread is thin all around front and back

I've been running Pirelli P-Zero Nero all seasons all year round. For the kind of driving I do, they're great. They're good in the snow and the grip isn't too bad either for an all season. I think I got about 22,000 miles out of the first set.
I'd second the vote for these. I know of a couple of WRX's that run them locally and they are happy with them.

anybody ever run these or have any thoughts on them?

i like to run mine at 36 front, 32 rear, and rotate the tires front to back every oil change, or even more often if i am feeling up to it.

alright thanks ill prob end up goin for these tires...havent seen too many complaints on them and its a decent price for a good tire from what i can see
what kind of tire pressures do you urn for daily driving? if the pressure is too low the tires will cup and eat the outer edges like crazy. the stock pressure of 32 front, 29 rear is way too low in my opinion and can cause wear like you described.

it defintely helps. i destroyed my first set of advans on my blue evo in about 6k miles from the pressure being too low. the fronts cupped horribly.
i like how it feels with a little more pressure too. a bit more steering response.

Tire wear
On the evos the tire pressure is a little issue, the biggest issue is the alignment....A brand new evo usually is out of alignment.......On a soft tire like the advan just a small misalignment will chew all of the tires off.... One wheel being out of alignment will push the whole car/causing cupping...
