Fantastic. The one run I even was able to get the car in 4th gear I got 14 flat at 99mph. Pretty but I needed to shift really slow to even get it to go into 4. Very frustrating.

The other two runs the mph at 1/8 mile were faster then at the end of the 1/4. Is it supposed to work out that way? Must have been all the wind

All in good fun though. I look forward to my next crack at it.

Davey Boy, You should have let me get a crack at that stock RS today. I think I could have improved those ET's for ya a little.

Anyway good to see ya give it a go. Atleast you know where the power / mph is. You can always see improvements in upgrades

Not bad Dave. Just curious how did you launch and what were your 60 foot times like? My first pass ever I didn't launch it, bogged, ran a 14. My second pass I slipped the clutch at around 3k and got into the 13s.

ha well got the car back together 2 days ago and figured i would take it to the track.

few things with my first experience with the new setup.

1) first 3 runs were 2.3/2.5 60's and bogged very very bad off the line resulting in miserable times.
2) 2 step for first 3 runs were @ 6300 rpms.. made between 5/7 psi
3)first run was on wastegate pressure
4) Did like the new boost solenoid i was running. Held boost SOOO much better.

After some embarrassing runs, 2 step was raised finally to about 7100 or something and pulled some timing allowing it to make about 24psi off the line.

This video pretty much sums up my day.
might as well just pushed it down the track

Ending conclusion:
I didnt think the tranny/tc would handle a lot of abuse, so i refused to launch the car up until the track so i had absolutely NO experience with the new triple disk.. After some practice and getting the breaking up issues cleared up (most likely need a cop) or something. should help me to not sound like a subaru after i hit 2nd/3rd gear..

Over all the day was a total success. How you may ask?

I did not have to call a tow truck

Ian,

Consistently a 2.1 60 foot. I let it rip right off the rpm limiter every time. Hell the tires even spun. Times didn't reflect the fun factor in that though.

enough with the political talk....a lot of us come here to get away from the everyday BS on the news ect. It is to a point where it is so annoying to watch TV because of all the political ads...no one has anything positive to say....just criticising everyone else....

PS....i approved this message....

Wow, it feels like its been forever since I've been on here. My computer has been broken and lacked internet access for quite awhile, however its finally fixed. I can't believe the things i'm seeing though...Dave at the track!? Peteypab at the track...running 15's (j/k, its sad that your trap speed is still higher than mine)!

Since I was last on here, about the only update I have is that I've got a fancy little AMS intercooler and LICP now. Currently running it untuned until I get my manifold ported, MBC, fuel pump, wideband and everything installed. It sucks thought because I've been unemployed now for about a month, so modding is sort-of on the backburner. Oh well, still feels good to be back. If anyone needs a helping hand installing something, I'm probably available .

when you finally were slipping the clutch out did you continue to keep the gas floored?

a common thing people do with the 2 step is only push the pedal down as far as it takes to bounce it and when they launch the car they are only 1/4 throttle.

throttle body got all jacked up over the past week or so, and would continually accelerate even when you hold the brake in. Here is a quick video of me on the way home from the track attempting to turn off my cruise control

during the ride home i actually never had to touch the gas. I would only lift my foot off the clutch and "no lift shift" it into the next gear lol

I agree the launch is the most exciting part of the run, especially with power limited by the stock turbo.

I never intentionally dumped the clutch off the line but the last time I ran I jumped off of it too fast and it seemed to hesitate for a brief moment to give me a 2.2 60 ft. My best run ever I had a high 1.8 60 foot, which was slipping the clutch at what I thought was 4K. I have always been curious as to which approach was faster, slip or dump.

I give you guys launching on the stock clutch all the credit in the world. Im one of those people that i can watch 1000 people launch, but if i would try it my $hit would break . If i didnt have bad luck i'd have no luck at all

Dan,

I really don't know, I just got locked out at high rpms and when I forced it it made a really loud sound. I did spend some time this morning adjusting the clutch pedal as best I could. I haven't given it the beans for a 3-4 shift yet but I'll post if I find that it helped.
