Look at it this way..if McCain got elected and something happened to him...we would be f'd. perhaps if he would have gotten someone a bit more articulate for VP things might have turned out different

Hey I'm not saying she is the sharpest tool in the shed, but she more then held
her own against Biden in VP debate.

Its called general taxation. In fact, the richest 1% of the households today take home more than ever in comparison to the remaining causing a bigger income divide. The honest truth that many dont seem to want to accept is that if there is taxation, it HAS to be tiered and differentiated to be fair. Otherwise you need to get rid of the entire taxation concept to be fair. Since nobody but ron paul supporters such as myself even entertain the second option, we are left with only the unfair taxation option. Then you want to start b1tching about whether the govt should be more unfair to the rich than the poor. The whole argument is a pointless one and the differentiated tax system is the only fair option. look at it this way,

continued cuts in taxes to the rich will increase income/wealth divide and will eventually hamper personal freedoms in highly conceived ways. It will eventually also play a big role in causing situations like the one we are in today.

imposing tiered tax system as it should be might not be the best thing right now, but that's what works in the long run and that's how it should be for a stable economy. Only the future holds the answer if Americans as a nation chose the right leader, and if that leader implemented the right ideas.

Hell, Future generations might actually find Bush's terms to have a long lasting positive impact for all we know. Only time will tell. For now, we have a lot of work to do.

You better. Start by paying off all loans(including the evo) except the really big one (home) and make sure you are living debt free otherwise. I am finally paying off my X at the end of this month and I couldn't be happier about it.

By the way, I moved to king of prussia on a new assignment. My gig at US Steel is done and I moved out of pittsburgh 2 weeks back. I still expect to hang around this thread since the philly thread is not half as entertaining as this one, atleast for now.

Pittsburgh is definitely up there when compared to the other East COast cities I've been to. Having said that, I couldn't care less either way. The work here is better, pays considerably better and I am closer to the extended family. That's the nice thing about being an IT contractor (read *****). Companies use you and throw you out once they r done with you, but hey, the upside is you get to charge them exorbitantly to your satisfaction and get to see all sorts of places around the country at their expense.

mMmMM politics.

what a waste of time. everything is cyclical. checks and balances etc etc.

I am not going to hop into this argument because what happened happened and cannot be changed, but i will say this. One major thing that i definitely do not agree with is the soon to be gun laws (and i am fairly certain they wont pass because of senators demographic origins.)

redistribution of wealth has been happening for a little while now, so you can see some current things like the government bail outs. also a small amount of government intervention.

I just cant beleive we have a guy with the name Hussein

Barack Hussein Obama II

sounds so much like a name we tend to fight.

I wonder what would have happened if a certian Mike Ditka would have ran for senate in 2004
