Say what you want, but African American and Hispanic voters wanted to see Obama in office for one reason. And it wasn't because he's going to fix Social Security. This equally works for whites as well who voted for McCain strictly because McCain was white. But the numbers show the African American vote being something like 96% to 3%. The white vote was in the ball park of like 60% (for McCain) and 40% (for Obama.) I just wished we would've voted on the issues rather than the color / gender of the candidates.

Liberal Politics... I cannot comprehend how any of the liberal prespectives can be truley believed in.

On one hand they're going to say it's okay to rip a living fetus out of a mother. But the deather penalty is cruel and unusual punishment for a murderer.
first of all, i don't believe that his race garnered him many votes at all. while it may have been a contributing factor in the turn out of black voters it is erroneous because generally speaking, african americans are counted as "safe" democratic votes to begin with. this coupled with the fact that there has been a large upswing in african american voters over the past 4 or 5 elections seems to suggest to me that this is a continuing trend, not a phenomenon based around the color of the candidates skin.

second, saying that Hispanics voted for him because of his race is actually directly opposed with the generally accepted tendencies of the Latino vote. it was actually a rather large area of concern in the primary election that Obama's race would hurt him greatly among that demographic. there has historically been an adversarial relationship between the black and Latin American caucuses.

the numbers you're seeing (with the exception of the latino vote) is pretty much right in line with what has been seen in past elections in regards to the percentage break downs per candidate. turn out was up significantly among minorities, but as i said, that has been on the upswing over the last decade and a half. take in to consideration that white voters also turned out in record numbers, and i don't think you can really draw any conclusions about his race helping him get votes, if anything i would bet it put a decent number of people off.

I think the relative landslide we saw last night speaks as more of a testament to his character and the nation's desire for change than anything, and honestly, saying that he got elected primarily because of his race belittles the significance of the mandate the democratic party got. it also smacks of a fair amount of racism and sour grapes.

I'm also confused over how you think that "liberal perspectives" can't be "truly believed in" . specific to abortion that really comes down to a question of when you think that life begins. the crux of that argument for most democrats is that life does not begin at conception, therefore an aborted fetus isn't actually a conscious being. so it's no contradiction in terms to be pro choice and against the death penalty.

specific to the death penalty, it's not always about it being considered cruel and unusual. i can speak to this personally because i very much against capital punishment, but not because i think it is necessarily cruel or unusual. my feelings are that the government should never have the power to execute anyone, mainly for the reason that i would prefer to see a million murderers get to live out their natural lives, than to see one innocent person wrongly slain. i also happen to feel that government sponsored vengeance is not an acceptable policy for a country which claims to follow the French model of prisons as vessels for reform as opposed to institutions of punishment.

so i guess really i would have to say that i don't agree with any part of your post.

Some pretty sick parts for the X's. How do you get invited to SEMA? Why don't they have it open to the public?

Brian if you really want to go i can get you a vendor pass. I was at the Atlantic city a few years back. Its really not hard to get into if you really want tho.

So none of you guys need a roll bar? come on all you need to do is weld in some side bars and you have a legal drag bar right? I mean i kno some of your cars actually go fast right?

What Blow Off Valve should I get?

I heard that djynojets are better than mustnag dynos? Anyone have an opinion on that?

I got pulled over and the cop was a real dick. I mean I was speeding and running over little babies on the sidewalk but he could of at least been respectful.

STI's still suck.

and the icing on the cake:

The EVO is a four wheel drive LANCER with **** interior, crap paint and fancy seats. It's not special or rare and will never be a COLLECTIBLE. If you don't drive it regularly and especially in the winter you are missing out on half the point they built the damn car. Thanks for keeping your cars nice though. I look forward to buying them for 1/8 the sticker price in mint condition in 5 years.

In the spirit of this thread I will take an edumahcated stab at answering your questionzzz:

1.) Get the HKS SQF90019er - its totally awesome, and run vta cause its cool and i promise your car wont run like crap.

2.) Mustangs pwn dynojet - end of story.

3.) Just remember logging in the middle of the city is bad, its really really bad - mmmmm k?

4.) STI's - meh whatevah

5.) I have more fun with my car in the winter than in the summer I think? E85 next summer may change that outlook....we'll see.

- Final note, dont forget about bushings!!!

Last 2 months have been awful for me on the road.

1) I damaged the Front bumper air dam because i was too busy to notice the parking barricade and too stupid to be using the evo for a daily driver while I had the camry.

2) I finally finished the suspension work about a month back on the camry and guess what, one week into using the car with the new hardware, a ***** in a dodge RAM rear ends me in monday morning traffic towards downtown. I still cannot figure it out, HOW DA FUCHK CAN SOMEONE HIT SO HARD WHEN IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. Turns out the guy does not have enough coverage to cover all damages and I dont have collision on the old camry. The car is still sitting in the repair shop since I dont know yet how much the insurance is gonna cover and how much is coming outta my pocket. So now, I just hate every Dodge RAM I see on the road and every sorry soul that drives it. LOL.

3) I got locked out of the evo last week in maryland at a friends place because the friggin FAST key stopped working. Turns out there is a TSB on the FAST keys since they are not EMI resistant and there is a new part out to replace them. I opened a thread on this under the EVO-x general forums. Even worse, another dude somes with a fully modded 05 subie and my car wont even start. WTF !!!!! . Had to get it towed while he was driving away in his deep growl subie. *#!^&*%$#@*&$^

4) So now, I am driving an old beaten 98 corolla VE that belongs to my dad and skids like hell in wet/cold climate. The only thing automatic in the car is the 3 speed automatic transmission. Everything else like the locks, windows etc is manual.

So basically, when **** comes at ya, its like there's no tomorrow. Good things have been coming far in between all this mess lately. I am just hoping all the bad luck is done with.
