Yeah, see they definately dicked you. If they didn't clock you, radar, laser, vascar, or whatever, then they just wanted to get you for something. I got a similar thing, but they just lied on the clock thing.

If you truley weren't speeding, or were not speeding more than 20 mph over the limit, then I think you should be okay. I know that anything above 31 mph over is a mandatory hearing and 5 points. I doubt that reckless driving could be much greater than that. If anything, maybe a 15 day suspension. Unless of course, you're already loaded with points. But if you're clean then I say go to the trial and beg for mercy. Tell them the facts. Admit to speeding and such. And maybe they'll just give you 3 points and a fine or something. But if your record is garbage you may need to do what you suggested.

Well, take it for what it's worth, but... In 2006 C & D held the same test for 06 current models. In the mix was the Evo IX MR. Same track and driver, etc... Lap time of 3:13.5! Behind both the Cobalt SS and the Evo X MR. On this track the cars managed peak speeds of 126.9 mph for the SS, 124.0 mph for the IX MR, and 120.1 for the X MR.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ion_mr_feature

Now I'm willing to concede that the Evo IX may be quicker around a track than the X. It's very close with the GSR, but the IX had more power in the straights. Well, less weight I should say. The MR is a little slower than both. That's a different discussion.

I however am not willing to concede that a Cobalt SS is quicker around any track than the 06 Evo IX MR and the 08 Evo X MR.

Best FWD ever made. I would drive one over an SRT4.

I wouldnt take one over an evo, not even a new SS vs a used VIII .. just something about FWD that i dont wanna put the effort into it to get traction. They have them tuned basically to the loss of traction. anymore power and like the older ones and SRT just torque steer all over the road, or break the tires loose!

frankly i think there is something wrong when a super charged lotus is below all of those cars too. i've seen more than one elise run the time trials and those bastards are FAST. they don't have the best straight line speed but the amount of momentum they can conserve with their cornering ability is just stupendous.

something is amiss with the C&D results.

One of the SS owners on another forum said the same thing. It's fast, but whenever you start modding it you can't control it.

Last thing about the SS, lol. Justin, the official Nurburgring time for the SS was 8:22.8 The VIII and IX crushed it. I cannot find official X GSR or MR times, but I'll bet it's an easy W.

I hear where your coming from, I realized its a slippery slope. I steered clear of mods for a while but now I have the itch. Mostly to blame is the fact that at the meet I had one of the most quiet Evo's there, only second to yours I think. Then I saw your post about the cams and added that got me thinking even more....

just wanted it done, i don't drive much in winter, unless it's to go do some doughnuts!

there was 4 evox's at s park mitsu today, lowest was 33k, dropped from sticker of 38k. i think there was 0% on the sheild too. they also have a modded 04sti with a fmic, tinted window and a serial cable wrapped the the steering wheel. it was 24k last week, now it's 20k(still way too much) good friend just got an 06sti for 17k.

prices are all over the place.

IIRC, that STI is advertised as 400hp or something to that effect. If its done properly, with good miles, it might be worth close to that 20k mark.

Probably a good time to get cams in as well. Even if they aren't as great on the IX's.

Another technical question for you if you have a minute.

With Mivec, if I get aftermarket cams, say HKS 272 can I make the idle much more stock like with the mivec tuning then the cams on the 8 were?
i got 272's in my 06 RS lemme know if you wanna check em out. you cant really even hear the rough idle, let alone feel it.

IX cams were a hit or miss from day leading back to the turbo trix intake cam that lost power.

The GSC / cosworth / FP cams all seem to have great results, on the forum.

The HKS/BC/TT and a few others have not shown the results for the money.
Remember, stock IX cams are supposed to be as aggressive as VIII 272's
