very correct. intake valves are being replaced. It would only be obvious that they would be the case at minimum. I said the motor was fine. No catastrophe leading to a dropped valve or bottom end work as it looks.
Cosworth already sent out the replacement. When they arrive, the car will be fitted with them as well as new intake valves and guides. also will require a new head gasket, but the L19's will be reused..
To Dan l

Only other picture that i have of it. tough to see from the cell phone picture. But, after inspection the journals they are flawless looking, and there are no signs of seizing up around the area of snap.. Cosworth will i am sure let me know a conclusion after they do their assessment..

Hey what happened I thought you were leavin er stock?? Or was that just for the time being?
I'm still deciding what to do with this one Ian. I do know that I will do everything at once and not a piece at a time like last time. I'll be pretty itchy to mess with the car by springtime. We'll see.
The time difference claimed by C & D was a difference of .3 seconds. Reading the breakdown of corner entrance and exit speeds, I cannot possibly see how the Cobalt SS could be quicker in some turns than a X MR. Not to mention the SS putting down higher lateral G's in some turns??? Not possible. My suspicion is that the MR wasn't setup properly. Not in S-Sport mode, had ASC on, or had AYC off and didn't know how to drive at all...
Either way, the GSR is the better performer of the two X's. The tranny on the MR might be great as far as innovation and quickness, but the launch is where the times really struggle. It's a bog every time on every video I've seen. Even with the Stig driving. And the 0-60 & 1/4 times show just this.
Either way, a $400 flash for the MR would really help things out. But if you really want to mod and track, the GSR is the better performer.

Maybe on the strip, but not on this 3:00 average lap time track. Three tenths of a second is nothing on a 4.2 mile road course. Just look at the time differences between all.
I'll break it down.
Mosler MT900S ran 2:45
Viper SRT10 ACR 2:48..6
Ferrari 430 2:54.6
Nissan GTR 2:55.6
Z 51 Vette 3:01.2
Caddy CTS-V 3:04
M3 3:05.6
Benz C63 AMG 3:06.5
The Cobalt SS ran 3:13 lap time.
The Evo X MR ran a 3:13.3 lap time.
The 135i ran a 3:13.7.
Lexus IS F 3:14
Audi S5 3:14.6
S2000 3:15
Challenger SRT8 3:16.3
Lotus Elise SC 3:16.6
G37 sport 3:17.5
New STI 3:19
And some others that don't really matter. All of those cars were supposedly behind the Cobalt. I doubt it. Chevy gave C & D the biggest check this month. Forget the Evo, there's no doubt the GSR would have been quicker. I still don't buy a Cobalt beating an STI, an S5, a 135, an S2000, an Elise SC, etc... Not happening.

i think something is fishy too, none of that adds up, but who knows?
