As for the new Genesis coupe - i could see it being the next Nissan Silvia for motorsports. That is a car that looks promising.
They are expensive though - add the recaro package and you are at 30k. Not a bang for the buck car. Might as well pony up the 8k more for an evo.

it def. could be a fun car for the summer.....
Agreed. The only other thing that sucks about the Genesis coupe is that it weighs like 3400 pounds
No reason that car has to weigh that much. But, if it truely is a 4B11, it might be some headwork and cams away from performing as well as the X motor.
tuning alone might awaken it....
And with the tuning available, i imagine the turbo is the size of a K03 on a vw gti.
put a stock turbo from an X on there, and get the same tune.
Sure you could get the power, and LESS drivetrain loss also!!!
Dont be surprised to see the 4B11 in other cars from GM, Mitsu, and obviously hund.
its the "world motor"
Edit:
Here is the turbo....

As for being heavy... This one already found a diet.

its because once upon a time they were junky cars. the genesis coupe is supposed to be a SOLID car. Hell, there are already rods/pistons/cams etc etc for the motor.

Give it a chance. I see the sedans everyday at the dealer i work next to and i must admit, they are VERY nice and priced so competitively with the BMW/BENZ sedans that are comparable
unfortunately that is tough to decide solely because the car has not even been tested yet, or ultimately not even landed in the USA yet.

Those are the Ryes Millen pics for their SEMA Genesis. Full carbon fiber body, 1 off everything. It is going to double as his drift car this season also. There is set to be a "Track" package that will give it all around Brembos and will loose a reported 150 pounds by using lightweight wheels, hollow sway bars ect.... That will help with the weight. I also think i read that the power numbers provided were on 87 pisstane. One of those "use at least 91 for maximum performance" disclamers.
