Colin, I know you told me that you'd canceled your extended warranty. Any advise would be welcome.

I do plan to start modding the car but not anytime soon. I am planning to keep it stock for at least the first year or two before I start tinkering with it.

Any advice yet guys???? Really need to finish this by tomorrow.

Honestly man, it's a gamble. I'd only consider (ever so slightly) keeping the extended warranty if I were going to remain stock for the next 6-8 years (whatever the extended warranty extends to.) The 5 year, 60,000 miles powertrain warranty is really pretty decent. Not as good as my VIII at 10 year 100,000, but I probably won't keep the X past 5 or 6 years anyhow. The bumper to bumper 3 year 36,000 miles warranty is the one I'd be worried about. Peeling calipers, stuff like that. Chances are though, if you keep the warranty, it'll be a waste. Powertrain is the most important and your good for the 5 years. If you're going to be modding the car, just get rid of the extended. It's really a waste at that point, unless you plan on returning the car to stock when you take it for service.

Extended warranties on cars like EVO's are not worth it. Just get the money back. If you ever race it, drive it fast or god forbid modify the shift knob they will deny it. MAYBE if you keep it totaly factory it'd be worth it.

That said, we have it on our other car and have used it many times and saved a ton. But it is a Saturn sedan that breaks all the time. How the hell could they try and deny a claim on a Saturn that goes 4500 miles a year.

Hold onto your insurance policies, they're making fast and the furious part 4.

They had the preview before Dearth Race which wasn't as bad as I assumed it would be. No worse then the original Death Race 2000 on which its based.

i was not there yesterday, and i will not be there sunday. this sunday is an SCR event, right?

i am going camping with my family this weekend, and i have kind of given up on SCR events aside from the time trials. too serious for me.

but i will be in north park on sept. 7th

never miss an NHSCC event.

i know you weren't there cause i was there i'm not a huge fan of the scr way of things either(more a problem with scca). but it's still fun. yeah, next week is an scr at the beave. i've pretty much sewed up a solid 2nd place in stx for the year no chance for 1st

nhscc events are so much more laid back and social and usually better 'views'

what the f*ck. i pick ONE meet to miss, and now all of a sudden it's the best meet ever, and everyone and their mom was there.

i just get annoyed at driving all the way out to beaver and paying around $30 for less than 5 minutes of racing. i love north park though. it's more like hanging out punctuated by racing versus the craziness of scr.

silver lining is the person must have felt guilty and contacted my friend, so it will be getting fixed.

there was an scr event at consol energy park on sunday, that you missed. but now i know you won't be making the last 2

oh right, right. sorry i have been a bit slow this week,

yeah i wanted to make the event at consol, those are kind of fun, but some stuff came up. i am excited for the NHSCC though.

i am having some major problems with the car though. the front drivers side suspension sounds like it is going to come apart, and i am not sure why. it sounds far different from the spring binding issues i had on my previous car, but i am not ruling that out just yet.

i have to get under it and take everything apart ASAP and see if i can track it down. it is starting to annoy/worry me a bit.

When I canceled the extended warranty all they gave me was 900 toward the value of the car. I never used a penny of that to mod it. It has worked out though;I need to take it in to have my gear shift looked at. Good luck man!
