I am thinking about taking the kids out to the track on sunday to see some action. I really dont want to miss this. The wifey got a ****ed up schedule this weekend and thats why I have to do a out and back on saturday , gotta get home for the kids. But I think I may pack the kids into the 6 and head out sunday morning with them be there by 10-10:30 and catch some action

 

I assume you guys are getting a hotel for the 2 nights? I was thinking about going out on Saturday, and staying overnight. Sunday is the day I really want to see. I'm up north near Erie, but I was going to drop down to I-80 around Mercer, and take it out. Perhaps I could meet up with you guys too. Keep me in the loop please as to where you guys are meeting on 80.


If you're going out and back on Sunday, I could probably meet you somewhere along the way. As much as I'd like to make this a 2 day event, just heading up sunday and coming back home late is more realistic.

 

So who's all going to the shootout? I've never been to it, but I wouldn't mind going. I'll see if I can get a cheap hotel room or something. Or a Sunday up Sunday back could be done. Post up if you're going.

Well success on the transfercase removal. The output shaft gave me a little grief coming out , but once I got a good look at it , out she comes. Whoever said you need a slidehammer for this just flat out lacks creativeness.

I was going to work on the tranny but I think I am ready for a few and a good steak

I went to the 8th DSM Shootout years and years ago, back when it was just the drag racing. But like I said, I'm planning on going this year. More than likely, I'll just go up and back Sunday for the racing.

178 miles roughly - takes about 3 hrs or so (depending on how fast u drive).

We are heading out friday and have a hotel fri, sat, sun. nights

 

no im just stating what google maps said - 178 miles and 3 hrs. which is about right. I think it took us like 3.5 to get there with potty stops and stuff like that - plus its just a nice cruise out there, no need to break a world record.

Someone can pm you when we figure out the time and meeting place on 80, have to look at a map and see where a good place is to meet and what time.

 

I might consider going up saturday and coming back saturday.

 

if your going to pick a day come up Sunday.......race day is much better and worth the drive for.
