local Pittsburgh Meet
WOW this is basically the coolest video i have ever seen.
Ken Block (sti rally driver) practice.. I have seen a lot of drivers do some sick stuff, but this guy really has control of his car. Its as if its to easy for him.

I agree with this, but without results i dont see where any street tuner stands unless they hit a dyno or go to a track. The butt dyno is only good on the internet.
I understand you have been doing tuning for a few years now trav, and i hear you are doing well. Why dont you consider putting it on a dyno to see what a stock map vs yours would do.

EDIT:
Better yet, race him and see how it runs.

Also I already know my car will make more power than a stock map...dunno why i need even put it against one? (not sure I understand the point your making) Plus stock map doesn't like the eco friendly fuel I run

Also if all you look for in a tune is peak power then your counting yourself out of a quality tune. I have seen so many maps that are rough as hell looking and its the little things like smoothing that make a huge difference. A rough tune can make a car feel faster than it is.....Sometimes the faster cars are the ones that just glide through the powerband.
yeah i don't think i will ever need to go on a dyno..after all isn't it just for numbers? In the end you can do the same on the street, Datalogging a car will tell you what needs tweaked...
speaking of which i still need to order my damn Tactrix cable and read up more on tuning.

Well, that is true.. but you are pressing you luck running 3rd gear out time after time on an open road. might find a place with no cops, but there may be wild life like deer or possum
IMO if you can afford a built motor then you sure as heck can have one.
. I'm not sure why its a privilage, if you need a new motor you need a new motor right? Well some people get one without needing one. (which im having a hard time with myself). If we are going to judge people on this then we might as well take EVO's away from alot of owners who are not worthy. Now i understand your point of stupid people but, thats how the world works.
As for Slowboy, I have no respect for any shop that goes on forums and acts like a child. I do think they are a fine shop if you just want to buy some parts tho.

That is why you choose your location carefully and you also have to be smart about it. I like on-ramps for highways, risk of cops is low and if its long enough + your car is fast enough u can bust through 3rd gear and be back down to speed to safely merge. Then find a nice place to pull over, read logs and make changes. REPEAT
haha not to be biased or anything lol
they have actually built 700+ motors since 2002. there is about a 1% of which may have resulted in an issue. I love people who buy a motor, put it in, plug in an AEM attempt to street tune it, blow the motor and make a fuss online.
I have read the horror stories, and i guess i am a supporter becuase i work there, but it also gives me an opportunity to see the other side of the story.
there truly are people out there that DO NOT deserve a built motor.. for instance people calling in asking, i need fly wheel bolts for my evo. "okay they are $3.00 a pop" Ok, so how many do i need then?
buschur and ams are great companies. the choice is yours

Plus the shop itself has no interest in proving that its motors can stand up to anybody elses.
The Owner of SBR IMO isnt even a true to heart enthusiast. He is nothing short of a business man. But he could car less about the sport. Or the results for the end user. I highly doubt he even considers what he can do to contribute to the culture of what we do.
He does not develop, tune , race , build anything . Nothing but cashflow in his brain.
Give me the builder who actually has the personall passion for what we all love. Not some Dick who is looking into his next business venture so he can wipe his hands clean of his current catastrophe. And leave the end user with no support and a garbage result.
Sorry you can be bout it bout it for SBR. I'll just keep quietly rollin with my BR setup.
The name says it all SlowBoyRacing
Oh and before I get accussed of jumping on the hater natiion against SBR. Trust me I have dealt with them
