Why is east coast last ......

I am sure everyone will agree that the best, smartest and finest looking enthusiast are on the east coast. We are the center of commerce and liberty and government but yet neglected by MMCA. Why?Why would MMCA elect to keep the brightest waiting the longest?

I am not trying to start anything.

Well the Evo's are imported and shipped from Japan to California. Which are all the way in the West Coast. The Evo's lay in the shipping area in California. From there they have to ship it from the west to the midwest then east, by trucks, trains, etc...

Ehy mann they save the best for the best last.

Simple. The cars are made in Japan, and come over on a boat, and are unloaded on the West Coast. We get all the cool stuff from Europe first... RIGHT?

I'd say that covers it pretty well. Just to add, once they're in country they're trucked to dealerships (as I'm sure you've seen other cars being transported on trucks you probably know precisely what I mean) so that explains the week or two of discrepency between showroom dates from coast to coast.

The delay is more like a month than a week or two. I was told again today that my dealer is expecting the cars at the end of the month. They could have easily packed all the EVO's on portable parking lots and headed east first. That would have been pretty sweet.

It is obvious the allotment person is probably a California resident at he/she likes them best.

Mitsu's that are imported for sale on the east coast are actually imported into the Baltimore Port. My Evo is sitting at the port right now.

But I think the delay is in the additional time it takes for a ship to travel from Japan to the East Coast, vs the time it takes for the ship to go from Japan to California. The ship that comes from Japan to the East coast has to travel around the whole western coast, then come through the Panama Canal, which is a very slow process, then it still needs to come all the way up the east.

SC~

East Coast port....

You are right they arrive on the east at a port over here. NOT transported across america from the west as some people have assumed.
