Question Ohio Emissions Testing

I have read everything I can find on emissions testing and I would like to talk to Ohio Lancer owners about passing . Has anyone tested with similar mods? Do I need to do anything to make sure I pass?

Basicly I just want to hear from some people in my state about thier experience before I go test. Can anyone help Any tips Ohioans?

You should have no worries then. What are your concerns?

My concerns are:

Should I take my piggy V1 off (They hook up to ECU now in Ohio)?

I am not throwing any CEL's which I know is good , but is one high-flow-cat enough?

Will my headers cause me problems?

By the way, thank you for responding .

I'm not familiar with the Lancer, but I assume that your "piggy" uses your OBDII port. If so, you'll have to remove that and go with the stock ecu.

Other than that you'll be fine with the HFC and headers.

FYI - some Evo's (properly tuned) have passed the sniff checks catless here in northern OH. Although some testing centers here are pretty lenient.

In cincinnati they were plug in to odb11 and tail pipe sniff test. Also visual inspecton to make sure you had a cat and test gas cap for leaks. No under hood inspections. No rollers if all wheel drive. If two wheel then put it on rollers and do sniff test.

This is all true except they only do exhaust sniff and rollers if they cant plug into ECU. I read the website for Ohio E-check. Where is odb11 located?
I dont have an EVO thats why I am looking for N/A owners in Ohio. I live about 20miles south of Cleveland.

My piggyback ECU version 1 from RR is not visible if they simply unplug ECU harness and plug some sort of diagnostic device in. I put the piggy behind the glove box and ran wires down. I am more concerned that if they notice the piggy it might be a fail or will the piggy cause a fail for emissions levels.

ODB11 is located right under the Steering wheel towards the right before the center console. look underneat and you'll see the black plug where you would connect...

You're fine.

The V1 shouldn't present a problem, unless it makes the ECU read "not ready" which I've never heard of it doing.

As long as you don't have a SES/CEL light, you should pass the sniffer test fine.

A guy from Mentor passed Echeck with RRM Stage 2 turbo. Your NA will be good.

(I had a Lancer for 2 years and I was in an Echeck county, so I'm speaking from personal experience also.)
