Boost Question!
Boost Question!
i was wondering what 1.97 kps is in psi? bc i cant figure out to figure this out. and i havent got my boost gauge yet. i hit 1.97 kps thats what it read on my profec b boost controller but if anyone could help me i would appreciate it thanks
1.97 bar = 28.57243 psi And if on a stock turbo.....
I think you might be spiking in a high gear. I was getting high readings when load was being increased under acceleration in 4th & 5th gears on the hwy. 1st -3rd at WOT was just fine. My profecB II hit a 1.79 once (stock turbo), and I was told to adjust the settings on the controller. I lowered the settings, and so far so good. Even though the controller was reading higher numbers than what should have been by the settings, my boost gauge on my pillar was reading accurately. the profecB can be a tricky b*tch to really get right. Good Luck.

Here is the link to the profecB spec II controller pdf file for everything you will need for it. It's on GReddy's site. To change the setting to psi from kpa is on page 14 in the pdf. But your settings will be different when programming between psi & kpa. Keep that in mind.

Also, here is a link that someone wrote up on programming, it's in teh Evo how to section: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=75594
Here are my settings (NOT PSI) Stock turbo but with a few mods....
Set = 51%
Gain = 7%
Set Gain = 1.11 (16.09 psi)
Warning = 1.48 (21.46 psi)
Warning Limit = 2%
....and my peak has been holding at 1.50/1.51 (21.75 psi / 21.90 psi)
Hope all this helps, and download a conversion program into your computer. It's a great tool. I use it all the time when it come to these things.

IMR-TIM, You have your set gain at that high? Do you have any issues at all? The set gain is when the profec starts to takle control of the boost. I didn't think the unit would even kick on that high?

OOOPS....sorry about that, typed my old settings. Took them from the notebook on my desk, and forgot to update it. I have a notebook with all different settings I have tried and with the results. I edited that other post, thanks for the heads up. I had to go to my car to get the settings I'm running that work for me. With those settings I'm running great. I had issues with the other settings. Fixed the notebook entry too
