I is here.
So...I guess I am destined to forever have problems with buying new wheels
I brought them (the 17x8's w/ Advans & the 17x9's) to TFT to have them swapped over on Thursday night. I got a call the next day saying they could not do them since I did not buy them there...So I brought them to a local place Friday night to do them Saturday morning, and he called me and said his machine could not do it. So I then brought them to Sullivan Tire (yesterday) and they were able to do it.
I get them all back, start installing them, and the first one clears the front brakes no problem. After I got to the last one, I realized they mounted 3 to be put on the left side, and one for the right. Great. And I specifically told them to mount two one way, and two the other. I would have been happier if they did all four the same way. But they were already closed. So I figure whatever, I will just drive the car to them and have them unmount and remount.
I take a drive over to my buddies house, and he looks at the other front wheel (which I did not even look at since the first was fine) and it is literally clearing by the thickness of a Dunkin Donuts bases loaded coupon thing. Weird...the other side you can basically fit your pinky into. So it looks like they may have given me at least one wheel with a 43 offset instead of the 35. WTF! So it does clear now, however will it still clear if I was to get new rotors? Or does that not matter? I am going to try and figure out if that was the only one or not...
Well at least they look good!!

WTF man?!?!?
Rotor size won't matter. the Calipers are hardmounted and the part that you have clearance issues with never moves... some big-rotor kits may relocate the caliper but I don't see that happening for you.
You sure you didn't leave a spacer on one wheel and not the other? and are you sure that the rotor is seated properly on the hub?
Gosh, I feel bad for you that this (wheel purchase) was such a nightmare.

So, they do clear. Is it worth it for me to have them send ANOTHER two wheels with the correct offset? The issue for me is that Sullivan charged $140 to unmount and mount the set! That was DOUBLE the price quote I got from another place (that turned out they could not do it, but still). TFT was under $60 to mount the wheels, but again they won't do it.

Edit: Dave...don't feel bad man! None of this was your fault! I would be all set right now if DTD had sent 4 of the same wheels, and Sullivan's knew how to mount directional tires...
Oh, and I posted the 'old' wheels (17x8's) up for sale on NewEngDSM figuring if someone wants them local, I will get pretty much the same amount for them since I have to ship these back. So if you know anyone interested with a 5-114.3 bolt pattern (pretty much all 5 lug Mitsus are), let me know!!

damn marshall.. that sucks dude, i hope you get everything figured out in the end. Are you going to run the 35 offset rims in front vs the other offset in back or vice versa? It'd probably give the car a really aggresive look.. with different offsets i mean. However it'd be a pain when you're mounting tires cause half the time the guys don't even pay attention to tire direction.
PS: Sullivan tire should cover for their mistake on mounting the tires the wrong direction.. i mean its common sense to have 2 one way and 2 the other.. who the hell has 3 rims on one side and one rim on the other side of their car... I *****ed out the place I went to for my snow tires when they not only mounted them wrong but also installed them in wrong on top of the mis-directions on the car...
PS: those rims are hott... What size rims are you selling now?

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am very happy with how they look! And yes, I do expect Sullivan to fix their mistake.
I am selling 17x8's with a 35 offset. Again, 5-114.3 bolt pattern. They would work with your car Bruce!

Is Bruce's car a reg lancer? 4 bolt hubs no?
PS. Installed my Buschur Race fmic, my intake temps are keeping much cooler now. Review will be up in a bit with logs and pics
He has a Ralliart...IIRC they are 5 lug, no?
And nice on the FMIC! I am sure you will like it even more at the track ;-)
Edit: Confirmed on the 5 lug...
