I am optimistic the RalliArt will have great potential. But even with mods I do not think it will be a contender to the Evo whether its an VIII, IX or X. I believe there will be many half-azz components, and end up costing a load of money to get it to run with the big boys...ie brakes, suspension. Plus the non widened body panels wil also limit tire choices. So you will be not running very wide tire setups.

I like the RalliArt as it is. It would not buy this car to start modifying like most of us have with the Evo.

The RalliArt is like being all dressed up with torn underwear.

I don't see why not? Look at what the WRX kids do...I am not saying it is going to handle or stop as well, but if you want that, obviously the X is what you want. However, seeing as it will have the same motor (internals included), I do not see why it can't make very good power doing the same mods you would be doing to an X anways (exhaust, intake, boost controller, fuel pump, injectors, cams, IC piping if not new IC...). To me, if you were going to keep both cars stock, and you have some extra $$, go for the X. If you were going to mod the X (since lets face it, it is really not fast compared to a modded VIII or IX), then go for the RalliArt, mod it as you would the X, have just as fast a car, just without the suspension/brake goodies (which can be fixed if needed!).

This is all my opinion and I realize not everyone will agree

Edit: Also, if you were planning on Auto-Xing the car, than go for the X all the way. However daily driving with an occasional drag pass, RalliArt FTMFW!

Anyone who may be interested in Exo MAP sensors, I goofed on the price. With the EvoM discount, they are actually $134.79. Not $146 that I had quoted earlier.

hey guys!

checking in from DC here. we had a really great conference and we've broken everything down and are back at the hotel for one last night. Katie tried her hand at a Pipetting challenge...you have to be as precise as possible...and she scored a CV (coefficient of variation) of 0.06%.... the best score out of anyone in the entire conference and she won a baller-*** pipette...she's really psyched.

We'll be driving back beginning early tomorrow morning but my weekend plans are uncertain.

I am really disappointed to see so many of you considering a bail-out for the Auto-X day. I wish I could convince you to run with us. Partly because I've already paid my $75 but mostly because I really wanted to participate as a group in this event. Hopefully you guys will participate and we can snag some more action photos... I'm planning a nice photography-related project for when my new mac book arrives...I think you'll all be impressed.

Anyway...I'll see you soon. We miss you guys (and our greyhounds!!!) and we'll definitely try to catch up at some point this weekend. If anyone wants to come to Maine on Saturday to hit the beach and hang out in Portland...let me know... we have an apartment above her parents' house that we can crash at....

See you soon...

Yeah, we work at IQuum... I'm an engineer and she's a scientist for the product. I didn't try my hand at the pipette challenge since I'd never done it before and our scores would count toward the "team score". It was a pretty good show...our booth and instrument got tons of positive attention.

FYI, this was the AACC annual meeting...
