Not four years ago- my point is that the writing was on the wall for a while, economists were saying we were headed for trouble and Bush and his cronies were still saying everything was fine. Point being, things could have been better had -something- been done about it. Instead the powers that had been continued to profit, the middle class in this country became non-existent and now everyone is paying in one way or another.

So where do we draw the line?

No we weren't in a recession then we were in a war that cost enough money to payoff almost every mortgage in the US .
While I do agree there was a large amount of money spent, the inauguration has been done the same way since the beginning of the US.
With that said, the cost associated with security traffic enforcement etc for a couple million people is not cheap. The actual ceremony only cost $1.6 M. The ball / party after was paid by private supporters.

Don't forget who could have implemented a good portion of wasted money back into the US instead of the middle east and oil companies.
Anyone ever wonder how much money Bush and his friends have made in the last few years due to the war and whatnot? He should have been impeached!
