Marshall you can't seriously think this is the first time people have voted for someone without understanding the candidate, their values and what they intend to do? There are dumb/ignorant people that support all candidates.

I am really starting to hate that word...change...
Does change involve bringing back everyone from the last (D) President? Sounds like more of the same to me. My biggest problem with the whole thing is there are MILLIONS of people who voted for him w/o even knowing what he was going to do to help fix this country. All they knew is that CHANGE was going to happen. When you ask them what change they expect, or how it is going to happen, they just say "he will make the country better". Amazing! Call me skeptic (or a douchebag!), I don't care. I hope like hell he does a fantastic job and the country will be in a better position 4 years from now.
That's MY opinion!

On that note. I will stop the political back and forth.

A good leader, by definition, is someone who can motivate people. The hope is that they have a solid agenda. Step one is motivating people and even if they are gathering behind something as nebulous as "change," they are still gathering behind -something-. People are unhappy with the status quo- human nature is to avoid change until the current situation becomes unbearable. Then, and only then will people want change. I think that's where many people in this country are.
As far as understanding, I think most of the people in this country don't understand the issues completely. It's honestly near-impossible to do with the advent of the internet and the ability for anyone to spread misinformation. It's both helped and hurt us.
counter point: the clinton admin is just as much to blame for the current economic crisis if not more so than the bush administration.

Certainly not...I just feel this election was far worse in that respect than any others in my lifetime...makes me sick though!
It's not that I am away...just not contributing to a topic in which will NEVER end. No offense to anyone, but I just keep my oppinions on politics to myself (most of the time). I can go to CNN.com for that stuff....in here is where I get my non-hetero fix
