Philadelphia Car Meets
The o2 housing is no fun at all. Took me 10 hours to do mine over 2 days. Of course, I did it alone on the floor in my garage, but it still was a ***** to do. Then the stock o2 sensor broke, so I take it back out the following weekend to replace it.
I would recommend taking the radiator out to free up some room. I left mine in and bent the **** out of some of the fins getting the stock heat shield out. Also, make sure you have some ratcheting wrenches to help get to some of the bolts and lots of PB blaster.
Anyone get hit by hail today? We got pounded in Lansdale around 5:20ish PM. Some good dime and nickle sized pieces. I saw the storm coming so I left work a few minutes early and luckly got car in the garage before it started. The wife's car was outside, but thankfully, no damage.

The o2 housing is probably one of the last mods I would do just because it is such a PITA. Honestly, I wouldn't even do it myself, I'd rather pay someone and save myself the headache. Thats me though...
DsB, what is you mod list?

alright so if your set on doing the o2 housing yourself heres what i would do. It took me and my boys 2 or 3 days to do it, one broken rad, 1 broken stud on the hotside, and a lot of pain lol. first things first, drain the rad and pull it out with the fan. it will free up so much extra space to work and make things go that much quicker. Then take off either the manifold or disconnect the downpipe. Then i guess take off the oil lines and whatnot going to the turbo, be careful not to lose the washers though because you will need to replace them if you do. Then take of the o2 sensor, you may want to buy an o2 sensor socket because that would be the easiest. Now take the entire turbo and o2 housing assembly out in one piece. PB blast the **** out of all the bolts and such and let that boy sit. Then try to break some of the bolts loose. If they aren't coming... DO NOT FORCE IT. thats how you break bolts and then need to get them helicoiled and things like that. If the bolts do not come loose, disassemble the turbo at the vbolt clamp in the middle leaving you with just the o2 sensor and the hotside i believe/think. Now you can really get at the o2 sensor for all workable angles, maybe use a vice grip if you have to but you should be able to get it off a lot easier. Then put that fresh boy on and bolt her up. Sounds easy, but will probably take you the better part of the day. give this way a shot for a more trouble free install, you might end up going faster than you think
This headache is why I do things in one shot. New turbo, 02 housing, and ported mani, in one shot. No downtime for my car and no broken studs to worry about. Just waiting for Pete to port the mani now!
jesus man, you guys are scaring me away from this job. i dont know if i can afford to have some1 do it for me. im just gonna say F*ck it and i have a week off from work next week so what happens happens. and my mod list is super short, but petey said i should do this so thats what im doin lol.
