I suggest you avoid that POS at all costs. My evo had one when I bought it. The car ran like garbage until I removed it. I had uncontrollabe boost cut and it was really rough and jerked a lot at cruise. Its very poorly designed. No offense but it has a well deserved bad rep for the evo.

The oil that K&N uses on their filters are no good for the Maf sensors as it clogs them up over time. Best bet is a dry element type. Perrin seems to be the favorite on here. I also like the APS cold air.

I just saw a thing this weekend about K&N's facility and their testing/product development. Their rep said that K&N will NEVER market a filter that doesn't perform as advertised... first thing I thought of was the typhoon intake. Seriously though, if I didn't know any better after watching that show I would have thought K&N was the ****, pretty good marketing.

They really do make great products in most cases. The Typhoon was the only craptastic intake I've heard of them making. Their filters and intakes are generally good, all around performers. They're not always the highest HP makers but they're consistent and built to be bolt on systems. The typhoon needed a buttload of tuning to get it to just run worth a damn let alone make any noticeable power. Epic fail on that one.

Perrin's are oiled I believe. The best dry filter would be the amsoil.

Really, mine looked dry...haha. Well, I'm running a dry Mishimoto now, and love it. I'm thinking about selling it, but not to Josh!

Lol. My one and only regret with buying and selling parts. That box looked so pretty under the hood.

Maybe I've become desensitized but today I was driving the new clutch for the first time. I ended up with an ACT PP and unsprung (to avoid the hanging issues) 6 puck disc. I read all these horror stories about how much a pucked disc sucks and it's all over hyped. This thing rocks so far. I had one on my eclipse back in the day but couldn't really remember if it was overly harsh or not.

I had the ACT street disc befroe getting the twin disk, and I always had high rpm lockout. I didn't know it was the clutch causing it until I changed it out. I liked the ACTs in all my civics, but it was terrible on the Evo.

It seems to be the sprung organic discs causing all the trouble because of a harmonic disturbance at higher RPM. I figured it was worth a shot. The SPEC I had in it was holding up better than I thought and I actually had a really bad TOB but I was in there already so I threw the ACT on. For every lockout complaint I've seen, I read another one with no issues so it's hit or miss. If it gives me a hard time I can yank it quickly enough. I had the trans on and off 2 times this weekend over a 10 hour period. I'm getting good at this.
