ya i have to agree with Noah on this one lol. Bah fk the rims man, much more important to have a safe car than to be spending the money on things that dont need to be tuned for lol..

On another note sorry I couldnt make it to the meet guys. The evo's registration is up in VT and i guess its time to actually register it in CT Whats this I hear about they make you pay property tax on EVERY car you have registered? Man this state is out of control.

im not THAT worried about about getting it tuned and all that jazz because its getting parked for the winter. i would rather spend all winter with it parked and get done building it, then getting the tune and everything last, so it can take into account any other performance parts i get. it doesnt really bother me if my car doesnt move again til next march. as long as that means that its done. remember, this is a PROJECT for me, not my daily driver or anything..... i knew ot was going to take a while like this when i started

blah i dont understand how you people can let the evo sit for so long. I go through withdrawls if i let it sit in the garage too long. Heck last winter i was driving it with summer tires on because i wanted to drive it too bad lol. Was actually kind of fun. I do not even know how i am going to handle having to go back out to sea and actually not be able to drive it whenever i want =/

and ethan yes this state is gay. They take every bit of money they can from you. Hence why the evo is registered in Colorado, all i pay is the processing fee to reregister it. ya it is yearly but no emissions and no stupid **** laws like CT has.

yup, mine is registered in indiana for the same reasons. i can keep my straight pipe, tint pretty much however i want, no taxes, and a way nicer plate. lol. Liam, you think i dont go into withdrawals? you are crazy if you think that! I keep this project as a test to my patience though. It has helped me with a lot of the stuff i still feel from Afghanistan....

So quick question... What are the window tint laws in CT anyone know? I have 15% all the way around except windshield. In VT your not allowed to have anything to the drivers immediate left front and right, but I always have a connection to get inspected. I assumed CT was less strict since i see EVERYBODY with tint. I have my CAT that I can throw back on real quick for emissions everything else should be good with exception of a license plate light or something like that....

I figure I should have at least once car registered in CT especially since i have CT auto insurance on the Evo bundled with the house.

Thoughts?

according to these guys its 35% for the sides, unlimited for the back, and a bar for the front

it says you need a sticker but I've never gotten one, never been pulled over for it
if a cop DOES pull you over he may write a fix-it ticket
I think at that point you just have to get it verified and your all set

Definitely do it.. We always have fun... And on the summer rally we went from Mt Greylock in North Adams MA to the Bolton Valley Resort... Most people went Rt7 to Rt4 to 100, others went Rt8 to 89 and all the way up that way... We took RT100 the ENTIRE way... 150+ miles at 10pm... It was a friggin BLAST...

Ken, do yourself a favor... Before you do anything, if you are seriously going to have EFI do your tune, do yourself a favor... Even if you don't get tuned right now, give them a call and schedule an appointment to bring the car there for them to look at it... They can evaluate the car, tell you what's right/wrong, and you can tell them your plans for the car, and they can point you down the correct path so you don't waste money on parts that aren't needed or that won't work well with your setup.. This way you know what you are getting into now, not in March when you want to start driving the car..

Trust me... I've been in your shoes... And I tune cars (Well, i'm retired from it due to internet drama, but i used to)... And there are SOOO many times where people have all kinds of mods, none that flow well together, and you end up telling them to take crap off and go back to stock, or replace it with something that will work better...
