Upstate NY EVOs
MoHud SCCA will start their autocross series at the end of April. Check http://www.MoHud-SCCA.org/Solo for updates. You familiar with shift518.com? They're a pretty active bunch in the Capital District, depending on what you're looking for.
You could always take a peek at Watkins Glen or Lime Rock to see when they're holding HPDE days, maybe tie-in with a club like BMWCCA and run the day they're running. I think they allow anybody to go with them instead of only BMW's. Some of the HPDE events at Watkins glen can last a couple days, like on a monday and a tuesday, with instruction.
Patroon Chapter of the BMWCCA, located in Albany, will be putting on the following events:
May 1st - Lime Rock Park
June 14-15th - Watkins Glen
July 16-18th - Calabogie (hour west of Ottawa, Canada)
August 30th - Monticello (north of NYC)
October 23rd - Lime Rock Park
Registration can be done @ http://Patroon.MotorsportReg.com
LRP fills up fast. Watkins Glen is usually filled, and is one of the top tracks in the US. Calabogie is a great, new track - it'll be our 3rd year there. We're visiting Monticello for the first time this year.
Many of us in MoHud SCCA are the same guys you'll find in Patroon BMWCCA. Autocross is a great way to refine your car control skills safely so you're better equipped to handle what the tracks will hand you. You can find a complete list of track events in the Northeast on the MoHud forums - http://www.mohud-scca.org/Discuss/phpBB2/index.php
