$3800? Geez, I'd rather build one from the ground up using components from more specialized MTB companies. The bike does look good however.

That bike is expensive, no doubt. I guess that it's value can be determined by who built the frame. This also isn't the first time a car company has private labeled a bicycle.

Some other collaborations I can think of

Peugeot- started making bicycles
Michelin- started making bicycle tires
Continenetal- started by making bike tires also
Campagnolo- Italian Forgery started making bicycle parts then forged car wheels and components
Bridgestone- made bikes and car tires (mentioned in the article)
Trek/VW bike team
Gary Fischer/Subaru bike team
Ferrari bike (carbon)
Porsche folding bicycle made by Montague (I think)

Most of the old french car companies began with bicycles.

Yes that is true, like the best example is Pegueot.

I think I covered both of those things in my badass post Robevo (I kid but it was badass)

There were some other manufactures with crossover to automotive applications like Panasonic, Sumitomo and some other suspension companies that are starting to get into truck racing (which I guess would be vice-versa)
