Alright, I'm trying to be nice, but you are giving me more of a reason to base my original opinion of dealers on. If you are in New York you are definitely mistaking me for someone else, because i never said i was going to new york. I told a dealer I might go down to south jersey to check one out, but I never said i was going to New York. I was very much so considering getting an evo, but it was not until I got to the dealership and had the prices thrown at me and the apr and whatever that I realized I wasn't financially ready. But I was still willing to take high payments for sixty months. So then I needed a cosigner to get the car and I have no one that will cosign for me. So even if i did go down I wouldn't have been able to get it! I am currently working on the credit problem b/c the credit companies have another family members social security number on my credit report. So don't categorize me in one of those five people. I know dealers around my area. They have been family friends for years, but I don't want an American car so that is why I haven't gone to them. They have told me stories of what some dealers do. I'm all about getting a fair price and 32,800 is pretty high if you ask me. So if you were the dealer that asked me to go to South Jersey I am sorry for not telling you I wasn't coming, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway b/c i couldn't get a loan for the car! So don't lecture me on how I wasn't ready to buy the car, I was. It was the stupid procedures you guys have to go through that wouldn't let me. But after all the horror stories I have heard and the two dealers I have spoken with I'm very much considering not getting a Mitsubishi anymore.

All sales people deal with getting no's before they get some one that buys.
Me I person start the look early to find that one sales guy that is nice to me and willing to werk with me when I give him my time frame up front a 30k purchase is not something I do a spure of the moment like I would if I was buying clothing or cds, dvds.
You as the sales guy women man boy what ever you are need to learn that you have to be nice all the time to everyone cause you never know when that one tire kicker will come back be liek you know what I got it down the street for the price you where asking but they treated me good from the get go.

Enuff ranting from me about sales people

Your right about they should be nice..... but what is there to take 6 months to make a decision?? Everyone on this site are potential or current customers. But, if your not financially ready now then wait to go to the dealer. These cars are on whats called allotment. There is a specified amount that each dealer recieves during the year. Once they are gone there is no getting more. If you go to the dealer now and are not buying for 6 months, the dealer you go to now 99% of the time wont be the one you buy from. You will most likely call 15 dealers looking for price and colors and the one who let you drive and took the time to make sure this is the vehicle you want gets shafted!!! It happens every day. I have a hugh customer base and sell 250 new Mitsubishis a year and no Evo customer is loyal.... its just how it is. I sold 15 Evos this year so believe me!!! Thanks for the reply

How about financial stability? I think i'd rather not pay 400 bucks a month for 5 years. Like i said I would have gotten the evo but the dealer wouldn't let me. It isn't my fault the stupid credit companies f'd up. I have had a credit card for 3 years and never had a late payment. So it isn't me that is the one that is messing up here. And don't put me in those 5 people!!

See, don't jump to conclusions! I was never a potential customer of yours! I am not blaming you for high interest rates. I'm not blaming dealers. I'm blame the credit companies. what i was saying is I would have bought the car even though I didn't think I had enough money, but the credit companies mistake messed it up. So I'm not one of those five and yes the dealer should be nice. A decent price? I've been offered 1000 under msrp at one point by a dealer down south, but I couldn't get the car until my credit problem is resolved!

Im sorry, but this thread kills me, and re-affirms why I hate dealerships. Its quite arrogant to stipulate conditions on potential buyers, in other words stating people six months from a decision shouldnt waste your time, etc. I dont think your winning anyone over here. As customers, we stipulate, we decide. We can walk away from a sale at any time, the buyer always has an advantage. What if someone comes in that isnt quite ready to buy, but then does buy one six months later because you actually were kind and helped them as much as possible? I am very simpathetic to Mitsu and Subaru dealers that have alot of kids coming in to test drive the Evo and STI that cant afford it, but it happens. The dealer that I bought my OZ from let me test drive a EVO no problem, knowing very well that I wasnt going to buy one any time soon. To some dealers, customer happiness is just more important. And you know what, because I got to drive one, when I do have my finances together I will be purchasing it from that dealer, because they didnt give me a run around or act like I was wasting their time.

I do feel that the price you are offering on the car is within reason, but understand that posting here you will recieve all sorts of rediculous requests. Good luck selling the cars....

You are one of the few.... and I would love to work with a customer like yourself. The problem is again, if your not buying the car soon, there probably wont be any when you get around to it. Its tough from my point of veiw because I sell 3 evos a month but have to filter through 200 cutomers to get those 3 real people. It gets rediculus!!! I guess Im venting

evomadness, you are the reason that people hate car dealers. I went into Don Herring Mitsubishi three months before I bought my car and talked to a salesman there. I told him that I was at least three months away from buying and was just taking a look at which time he asked me if I wanted a test drive, of course I did. He tryed to see if I would be interested right then before he brought the car around and I said no, so he said just keep him in mind and we will take a spin anyway. He did not ask again and gave me his card when I left. Three months later I walked in on a tuesday and drove out with an Evo for invoice. If I had run in to you with your attitude I would not have bought from you, nor would I have sent the two other people over to buy their two Evo's from the same guy either. (which I did and they are driving them now.) Those five people who walked in and kicked the tires may have walked right back out and bought their cars from somewhere else.
