Exclamation Problems with dealers!!!!

I am a dealer in New York and I am also a soon to be Evo owner ( on a truck as I am writing this) . I am writing to defend SOME of the dealers that I hear everyone speaking bad about. The reason why some of you may not have the greatest experience at the dealers is because MOST customers that we see on a daily basis should never set foot in the dealership. They are not ready financially to buy one. Unfortunately by the time one of you real customers come to the dealership there were 5 people before you that pissed everyone off. Please tell everyone.... when coming to the dealership have your stuff together. Check insurance out and make sure you can afford the car. This will make a salesperson happy to deal with you and will most of the time give you a great price!! If anyone is looking, I mean SERIOUSLY looking for an Evo please call me at 845-291-1998 and I will give anyone from evolution M a $500 discount on any NEW Evo I have in stock!! Ask for James Barrett. You can email me also JBARRETT@HEALEYBROTHERS.COM Please let me know any opinions on this matter you may have!!

My dealer never had ANY markup even when they first came out....
And there is another person on this board that got his evo from the same dealer back in june for 30K out the door..... so gofigure...

No need for cursing!!!! I guess the question is.... If they never had a markup, then why would they have 10 on the ground?? Seems pretty strange to me?? Just so your not confused, that dealer could sell his inventory to another dealer for more than they are selling to you for. Just sounds strange, thats all. Good luck in your purchase.

I am not exactly fond of dealers myself, however I will not base my opinions of all dealers on one experience. I went to brad benson in NJ and the dealer tried to sell me one for 32800 before tax, title, etc. The dealer I dealt with also lied about a few things and that is what really threw me off so I obviously didn't get it. After that experience and the fact that I wasn't financially ready to get the car, I decided to wait until April/May to get it. I do have one question for you though Evomadness. The dealer told me that this year the EVO was just the EVO and not the Evolution 8 and that next years model will be the evolution 8 and it will have more hp. Is there a spec of truth in this? Also I know you probably wouldn't want to say anything about this, but how many clutches has your dealership had to replace and were there any rust issues? Also do you know anything about when the new models might be out and if there is any changes like a new clutch??
thanks!

no rust problems and no clutches. There is no truth in next years model if there is one. This year is the Evo VIII. As for the bad experience..... when you spoke with me and you wanted to come up for a drive you lied to me , which makes you just as bad as the dealer at Brad Benson. When you come to a dealership you shouldnt be 6 months away from purchasing. Thats a waste of their time. That is the reason why those dealers you were telling me about wouldnt let you test drive. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and you played me. This is exactly my point as I first wrote at the beginning of this post. Thats why everyone has a bad experience when you go to the dealer looking for an Evo. If your not ready don't spin a dealers wheels pretending as though you are ready to buy!!! I know I might sound like a real jerk, but pretend this happend at your workplace. What would you say or think about the customer???

How can a potental(spelling) customer be a waste of the dealers time? I started looking for cars that I wanted less than a month ago and I am goingto buy some time in December Hopefully. as for getting 5 tire kickers in before the serious customer. then saying it was the other 5 fault that you are not nice to them, You are bad sales person. All sales people deal with getting no's before they get some one that buys.
Me I person start the look early to find that one sales guy that is nice to me and willing to werk with me when I give him my time frame up front a 30k purchase is not something I do a spure of the moment like I would if I was buying clothing or cds, dvds.
You as the sales guy women man boy what ever you are need to learn that you have to be nice all the time to everyone cause you never know when that one tire kicker will come back be liek you know what I got it down the street for the price you where asking but they treated me good from the get go.

Enuff ranting from me about sales people
