Tint ticket

Anyone else get tagged for tint coming off the Seaford-Oyster Bay parkway on Merrick Rd last Friday? The trooper was on the side of the road at the end of the ramp and pulled over everyone with the slightest tint and used the tint meter to write up tickets.
They must have need to pull in some revenue approaching the end of the month.....

I just got my tints last week 20%, and now I'm worried... The NYPD set up a check point on my way home lastnight and I had to make a quick detour before I got to the road block. I had a feeling I was gonna get busted so I got the hell out of there.

Come on now give us a break. I have seen many revenue stops on highway entrances and exits here on Long Island. I think it is pathetic. Don't these law enforcement officers have anything else to do but extract even more from those who are over taxed already. It is almost as if they need to gather more funds to pay themselves overtime.

What is the legal limit on tint percentage in New York?

That's sucks to read because I just got pulled over last night because I was going 60 in a 45. Had to get around a slow 18-wheeler.

The cop gave me two choices. Get it fixed and not pay the fine OR pay the fine. He told me that if I liked it the way it was....just pay the fine. He was really cool about it but thats the 2nd time I've been stopped for tint. The first time the cop let me go cause he didn't have a tint meter. This time this guy was prepared.
The tint ticket is $45 dollars for the first offense. I have no idea what the escalation rate is after the first offense. I roll down my windows everytime I see a cop now. SO SAD!

You can stucko over your rear windows if your car is registered in NJ. But if you have a speck of tint on your fronts or windshield, it's illegal. NY is different. They can tint their fronts (not windshield though), but both front and rear have limitations.

Sucks but well...if you're in violation, you're in violation. If you get caught you pay. If you don't, consider yourself lucky.
