Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
If it looks like heavy rain, I'll just throw on the snows. Standing water at every apex will would hurt the fun of the day, but it doesn't have to kill it.
Actually, one could learn just as much while using much less gas and tire
there's a bug on my nguyendshield!

I recently read a book called 'speed secrets' that talked about racing the in rain and it really changed how I feel about it. I'm now hoping for a rain day this year so I can try out some of the techniques I learned.
From watching ridgick drive in standing water back in june (?), i'm pretty convinced that this is correct.
Is that about what your book stated? what are some of these techniques it talks about?
You guys are pretty productive in adding to this thread... I had to go back 3 pages to catch up!
I will be running regular SM with hoosiers. I plan to hit the tour and pro in our area this year, and maybe another national event. The car will not be built to the full extent of SM rules, but it will be enough for me to work on the driver mod and play in national level fields (I hope!).
I may run street tires in SM-T occasionally if the crowd is there. I just hope everyone doesn't leave SM because that group looked like fun to run with. Coming from SMF, which had 1-2 cars per event, I am looking forward to some competition
I've been wanting to get out of fwd for a while, just had to line up the funds to do so. For the record, I was faster than some evo's in the sentra

I have read a bit of skip barbers book. He says that technique should not change in the rain, only braking points, apexes, ect.

I've known about your plans for a while. Glad you were able to make everything come to fruition. It will be interesting to see your progress this year in a more competitive car.
Also, i doubt you will have much competition on hoosiers, i.e you should join us and run street tires.Just browsed the results, you beat me and my all-seasons at every event except for when you drove josh's car
that wasn't intended to be an insult, but i guess i can see how it would sound that way
too long to 'splain in a post right now, but we can talk about it when we co-drive together at the next event.
you didn't call him a noob directly, but I got the feeling from how you worded your post that you thought he might be a little green.

Na, it was just some mild trash talk. I know he's got skillz.

I guess the old saying "if you can't beat'em, join'em" still holds true.
