SM or SM-T is gonna be tough this year. Both you (kenny) and Ben need to make the switch. Its gonna be an all out battle!

I need to get my car sorted.

get your own co-driver

Marc, you could just drive different cars each event. Who wouldn't want the SM champion to abuse their car?

alright lets just keep this video to ourselves.

Cliff notes.

- it was the 3rd session i think, it POURED the first 2
- Brad was in the CRX on SLICKS, and went into the grass like 4 times
- i was just cruising around not going quick, no offs
- 3rd session, sun comes out, course is not half dry half wet
- This is the first time i took that corner in 4th
- i don't remember how fast i was going maybe 70-100
- i think i hit the rumble strip

I didn't speak for days after that lol. I sold my wheels and like a bunch of parts after because i was so upset. Then gave up racing for that season and raced the crx for the next 18 months.

That's my worst nightmare, Carson. Starting to spin is bad but hitting the tire wall just makes it worse.

Thanks for sharing. You would think 4th would be better than 3rd for your rear stepping out, since you're not turning as much RPM through the corner. But I guess the difference in speed was all that mattered.

That and all the water you went through just before the turn. Either way, you are probably a better driver because of it.

yeah you have no idea. Whats funny is as it was happening it was so slow motion and i wasn't really too worried. I was correcting and applying a little throttle, (could have been more my instructor said) And i thought i was going to save it. Then as you can see it just totally went around on me. The instructor was like man i really thought you had it saved i don't know what happened, then lectured me about how i shouldn't be discouraged and not to let it scare me away from the sport... THANKS! Surprisingly the car started right up and drove fine back into the pits. Everyone was really nice and helpful in supplying me with zipties and getting everything done to make sure i could drive it home. Everyone who looked like they knew what they were talking about told me the same thing "don't let the crash keep you away from the track, it happens"

So thats why i want to get back at it this summer if i can, and buy a miata or 240 that i don't mind crashing lol.

yeah. I was definitely going faster. In the laps before that i would downshift to 3rd and get on the breaks and really slow myself down before the turn. The instructor told me that was fine but i was giving up a lot on that turn, so it was better to stay in 4th and just slow down from there. The only reason it made me a better driver is that im much more aware of getting my car slowed before my entry and get back on the gas, rather than worrying about slowing mid corner aka coming in to hot. And after that i havn't played in the snow since it really ruined my confidence lol.
