You don't think +15 is bordering on dysfunctional?
There are too many people making statements like "just put 10 or 10.5" wheels on an X". I keep reading people having issues with them. Tim runs them with a +30 offset and seems to be fine.
I'd like a little more piece of mind.

It would almost look like an open wheel car!

My personal opinion is a 9.5" +15 would look really nice. You may be able to do a 265/35 tire and have no rubbing. At stock height you will be fine, it's only when you lower it where you might run into a problem. Then you can run more camber or have them rolled.
Going with a high offset +35 or so would be ok too, you just loose the aggressive look. My motto is, if you're going to spend the money, you might as well go big!
all this fender rolling talk has gotten me back on the wheel/tire search. i need some advice.
i like rpf1's in either silver or gunmetal but there are much in the way of offset choices. the size i plan to run is 18x9.5. the only offsets made are +38 which is OEM fitment or +15 which i think would push me out of the HellaFunctional club.
do you guys think an inch wider wheel with an OEMlike offset would still look good? should i run a 10mm spacer to get a slightly more aggressive offset?

but 245 is like...like 2 dollars more per tire! (i kid.) Guys like kittens running the +15's run 235. I'm on a +22 and plan to do a similar ride height. Figure (roughly) I'm safer by 7mm, and deduct 5mm for half of a 245 tires thats 10mm greater than a 235, then I have 2mm more fender to tire clearance than those guys (is my math kaput?) id rather have my 7mm safety zone and not have to pull my fenders (dont mind rolling.)
