Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Not always for the weight savings. For some people who want to run the short route uicp, while maintaining a full size battery, relocating to the trunk is an option. I, for one, wish I could retain a full size battery and keep my uicp, but I don't like relocating. In Carson's case, the battery seem to limit room needed for that enormous Synapse bov...

the biggest downfall with moving the battery IMO is that if you ever plan to do anything except street race you'll need to install a cut-off switch in the rear of the car in order to pass a tech inspection. that usually requires drilling a hole somewhere in the body of the car and maybe even placing one of those CUT-OFF stickers on there.
^ I think Dan is refering to his battery being in the trunk and him not needing a kill switch...
My guess would be since it was placed there by the manufacturer and not done after the fact, but what do i know.
