Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Dan, thats very interesting that you bring that up. When I was applying for jobs/internships during college, I always followed up an interview with a hand written note thanking the interviewer for their time. Each time I received an offer, they said they were blown away (in a good way) that I took the time to mail them this. they were impressed. (whether it helped or not, i have no idea)
to add to it, I was in downtown DC one afternoon for a late lunch with people, having taken off from work a few hours since I maxed my PTO. My boss then contacted me, saying I needed to hurry and drive from DC (whitehouse area) to Herndon (Dulles Airport) because she needed me to explain a contract to her and sign some papers.....ALL THROUGH TEXT.
I texted her back asking if I could call her to discuss, and she continued texting me saying texting was fine and she couldnt talk. I found it incredibly unprofessional and quite frankly it pissed me off.
end / my "im still at work and MNF is coming on quick rant"

Craig Breedlove – the first person to exceed 400, 500, and 600 miles per hour on land* – will receive the fourth annual Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum “Spirit of Competition” Award at a dinner at the Museum on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011. Breedlove joins drivers Mario Andretti, Janet Guthrie, and John Fitch as a Simeone Museum Award recipient.
Fifty years ago, Breedlove, determined to bring the land speed record back to the United States, began building his "Spirit of America" jet-powered car in his father's garage. On August 5th, 1963, he piloted the Spirit of America to a two-way average of over 407 mph on the salt flats of Bonneville in Utah. A year later, he broke through the 500 mph barrier, but destroyed his car in the process, and narrowly escaped serious injury. He returned in 1965 with a new car, the Sonic I, and went 600.601 mph – making him the first person to exceed 400, 500 and 600 mph on land.
Shortly before exceeding 600 mph in November, 1965, Breedlove set 23 international speed records – including averaging 150 mph for 12 hours -* co-driving the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (CSX2287) that is one of the star displays at the Simeone Museum.

I'm out for the schattenbaum event on the 21-22 of Oct. Going to run Nov 5-6 with them instead so I don't have to use any vacation days. My Octoberfest of track days has taken a little detour.

Thats some funny ish, B.
