having instructors come up asking what the hell is done to my car and the look on their faces when I tell them.
getting good feedback from my students
Not crashing when I spun the second time ( I hope that scared the **** out of you Dan).
hanging with some ***** *** fools on Sunday.
not having a smoking evo anymore

Here is my last session of the day on Friday. Hopefully you guys who got to run in mine or Thai's car will appreicate it a little more now that you know what it 'feels' like.

I'm planning on instructing for the Schattenbaum event @ Thunderbolt on Nov 5-6. If any of you fools want to sign up I would request to be your instructor and I promiss you will have a blast. Two days with me on that track will have your head spinning in such a way that you'll never want to do another autox again.
Do you have any videos in the evo with the camera mounted on the rear package shelf?

Next year im going to do trackdaze and a pca event. This weekend really showed me what my car can do.

TrackDaze ~ Shenandoah.

I'm not a fan of the BMW CCA after my experience, and now hearing your guy's story, really not a fan. 3 heats, thats it? For your instructor to not even show up for your 1st session... Effe that! I'd be asking for a partial refund.

Did any of you ask to move up to green? (or whatever the next group up would have been)

they moved everyone up for monday. No moving up for novices on sunday. Yea only 2 runs sucked but I know they wont give me a refund. In my 2 sessions I did have a good time so it wasn't a total waste. $100 a session is alot.

Their tech inspection was even worse. No other clubs I run with have a policy about window tint but bmwcca does. Chu and Robert had to get a one day exemption for the tint on their car. And they wouldn't even let me run my car because the crack on the windshield saying it was a distraction., yet I can run with any other clubs. What happen if I got a crack after the first session, they wouldn't let me run for the rest of the day? They trust me to instruct someone but thinks a crack on my windshield is too much of a distraction for me. Lol

yes, that is you to a tee! I would ***** about it too though, they really ruined the event and left a sour taste in some peoples mouths (not talking about Chu's oral skills either). I don't understand some of these jaded instructors. The whole reason they're able to do what they do is because of the students. without them there is no future for the sport, so it would make sense that you should give ALL your time to your student to make sure they have a great/fun/safe time and come back.

the whole event was just a weird one. Between Thai getting the boot for a cracked windshield, me offing twice, the BS instructors, little track time and the trains I don't blame any of you guys if you didn't want to do another HPDE... but i do think you should give it atleast one more shot before you throw the towel in. Afterall, there is a reason why more than a few of us are hooked on this **** like junkies.

ironically, a good portion of my climbing adventures have been foiled by rain, and auto-x is more fun in the rain.
