I kinda feel like the Purple group (Boberto, Chau & Tim) got a little bit of a raw deal. Lightning is a great track to learn on but there were a few things working against all of you:
1. trains like I've never seen before
2. very little track time
3. not the best instructors (mostly talking about Tim's instructor)
4. running in a supplemental 'purple' run group

They just made up that purple run group for this event so people who were basically brand spanking new to the sport could get a taste. it was almost like a glorfied 'taste of the track' that PCA does. I think if you guys would have done both days in the RED - beginner group rather than the purple group it might have been different. Red group drivers got 4 sessions for the day and didn't seem to have as many trains from what I saw yesterday. I felt bad for you guys and wish there was something I could've done. BMWCCA really does have a good beginner school but one day on a track with only three session is barely scratching the surface.

Some of my highlights were:

Not crashing when I spun (hope that didn't scare you boberto).
showing my blue student some racecraft and seeing the lightbulb go on.
chasing a Supercharged e92 M3 on Rcomps driven by the owner of VAC motorsports (see vid)
having instructors come up asking what the hell is done to my car and the look on their faces when I tell them.
getting good feedback from my students
Not crashing when I spun the second time ( I hope that scared the **** out of you Dan).
hanging with some ***** *** fools on Sunday.
not having a smoking evo anymore

Here is my last session of the day on Friday. Hopefully you guys who got to run in mine or Thai's car will appreicate it a little more now that you know what it 'feels' like.

I'm planning on instructing for the Schattenbaum event @ Thunderbolt on Nov 5-6. If any of you fools want to sign up I would request to be your instructor and I promiss you will have a blast. Two days with me on that track will have your head spinning in such a way that you'll never want to do another autox again.

put on old *** VIII turbo I had sitting around and that seemed to do the trick. Now aside from a tune, injectors/fuel pump, exhaust & MBC my car is stock (motor wise). gonna remove the injectors and FP before the nasa TT event to get some points back.

I enjoyed my first ride with the Black group on cold tires!

I was very surprised how it was run for a club like that. To be honest I expected more. The instructor situation was my number 1 issue. Lightning is a very nice track to learn on and I think it will be easy to get a good rhythm through the corners. Coming over the crest at the top of 4th was definitely a highlight for me.

Glad you showed them what was up yesterday
