Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
This is great- my friend who i sold my honda accord rear ended someone- and he is blaming the brakes.
1- i sold it as is.
2 - i offered to "fix it" but after driving it myself, have Andy drive it, and the CEO of YBRD, they all agreed nothing was wrong with the brakes.
The CEO of YBRD has the same car so he has a good reference point.
this should be fun.

To me it just sounds like he is trying to point the blame elsewhere.
rear ending someone is almost ALWAYS the fault of the car doing the rear ending in the eyes of an insurance company. You need to maintain a safe following distance at all times. Having the tires lock up in the rain means only a couple things:
He panic braked and locked them up, sliding into the car in front
His tires are blad and couldn't get traction on the wet ground when brakes were applied.
Did the car have ABS? Tires shouldn't be locking up with ABS... Either way the brakes were techincally 'working' if the tires were screeching. how well they worked is another question all together, but so is how was the guy driving and could the accident have been avoided.
Were the police called to the accident scene? Was there a police report filed?
GLWS

Yeah he is retarded
My corolla (not a honda) stops almost as well as the Evo with race pads on it. I have hawk hps in the front and drums in the rear.
Driving josh someone where once he said "geez this thing is a beast with how well it stops"
True story, bro.

Since James failed to install a carbon braking system on his accord before selling it, he is clearly at fault for Honda's subobtimal factory braking performance leading to this tragic mixing of bumper material.
braking limits are dependent on tire traction. most if not all cars with factory brakes are able to lock up tires during a panic stop. maybe not after repeated hard braking but at least the first hard braking. that being said, Honda generally do come with tires that are more focused for fuel economy rather than performance.
That's ridiculous that he would even try to put James on the hook for his accident.
Josh had the kid who bought his car sign an "as-is" notarized statement. He couldn't come at him about anything. I'm sure there is something in law that protects the seller in a private sale of cars in retard situations like this.

Thai, I was locking the fronts of the corolla brakes up for ****s and giggles yesterday in the rain. My abs is disabled for a reason I need to figure out soon. I can't say I'd like to lock them up when I needed them in a short distance.
Hey Joe Jackson, welcome. Where in WC do you live?

Pull your abs fuse and disable it all together, best way to practice threshold breaking in low traction conditions. And learn to release the brake smoothly after the tires lock up.
