Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
one day in 2011 I tried to open the sunroof and it went wacky on me. Then I couldn't close it. Luckily I was able to then just left it that way. Now since its garaged I tried opening it again the the sunroof tried to close crookedly.
I took it apart and found a screw fell when I remove the headliner that holes that drip rail to the sunroof. so I had to take the whole sunroof out just to identify this peice and order a new one. Hopefully i know how to put it back together.
so I shouldn't buy wheels, and the new stereo setup with DSP I have waiting for it?
Marc, great to hear the car is coming along.
Jimmy, you should have tried reseting it back to home before you ripped it apart. I'm pretty sure most sunroofs do that. I know mine does, but its aftermarket. As far as the X5 goes, I'm with Dan... Leave it be, bro.

the drip rail came apart from the guide rail and the sunroof itself- most evo owners have issues where the bolts holding the motor disappear but for me it was actually part of the sunroof that fell apart. The drip rail acts as the fourth side of the squared body of the sunroof, and with that dangling the roof glass never would move perfectly squared against the rails.
