Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
You could do a one day skip barber school. That plus a plane ticket and hotel would be a lot cheaper than driving or trailering your car out there and back. Of course, you could make it a track to track road trip vacation if you drove...
It is worth noting however, that Laguna Seca has very strict sound controls (92db). If your car is much louder than stock you might not pass sound. For reference, stock GT3s and Ferrari's are too loud for the track and need to run modified exhausts. Of course, you can always just go really slow on the straight with the sound check station, but what fun is that!
I have seen at least on person show up to Laguna Seca in a Hertz rented Mustang GT. I think he got maybe one good session before he boiled the brake fluid and had to limp his way through the rest of the day. However, if you bring along some Motul RBF600 or similar and do a fluid change on the rental, you might have fun.
Another option would be to buy your next car in CA, fly out to pick it up, do a track day, then drive home.
The car is stock (hence the 286bhp user name). The only "mod" is a set of racing brake pads for track days. I figured I would work on the driver instead of the car, and also keep it stock so that it is a bit more comfortable for DD.
I've had some really good events with GVC, so I'll give that WGI event a second look.
Last time I lived in the Northeast I had a chance to do HPDEs at Mt Tremblant, WGI, Lime Rock, Calabogie, Monticello, New Hampshire, NJMP Thunderbolt. (Listed in order of preference.) While I was in California, I also drove Infineon (aka Sear Point), Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and Willow Springs Big Course. I get the most fun out of courses with significant stomach-in-your-throat elevation changes, which is why NJMP did not rank so high for me. VIR is pretty darn far from here, but it is a heck of a lot closer to me than it ever was, so I am going for it!

I see that there are a few Mitsubishi dealers in the area: Springfield, Desimone, Cherry Hill (NJ), Jeff D'Ambrosio, Prestige Mitsubishi (NJ).
Which of these has the best service department for Evos? Best parts department?
