Mike, stock coolant gauge is really buffered, if you got into the RED on the temp guage your coolant temp was well over 240*, which is the danger zone. You might have warped the aluminum head, even with studs... ask me how i know.
Id hook up evoscan and log your coolant temps in real time to see exactly what your readings are.
Btw, Sunday is fine for what we talked about.

No worries, I will find a station on way to Glenn and get all my E85 there. Between myself and Shoe we have 60-70 gallons carrying capacity with all our gas containers. If I tow with my truck I will just load up with all the fuel, no worries. E85 domination will be in effect. Besides its cheaper than gas.......unless you factor in you have to flow 30% more
CU, whats going happening on the 9th? Some of us are autoxing on the 10th at CBP, thats what you need to come out to and run your car!
Mike, you have to get off that corn before you track, esp if you and Aaron are gonna co-drive your car. You would need 50Gal of E85, that is ain't available near the track either. That is strictly MO, of course.

How do you test to see if that happened? This is the first time the car has ever ran that hot, water temp was always fine.
My oil temp was at 240, stock water temp guage was right below or touching H. So far I have had to kick heat on 3 times. If car is moving temperature is fine even when beating on it. Obviously I am no longer driving car until I fix it.
At this rate I could have just put a 9 motor in the thing...
Hear you, everytime I got towards H I kicked heat on high, temp would come down once I got moving. My luck, I screwed the head up, blew the HG and bent the ARP headstuds.

you could have warped the head yes-
I run a CBRD radiator. Supposedly RT burped all air out of system. Guess the thermostat and WP will just be replaced after this fiasco. I thought I did the water pump and oil pump a few seasons back, the HG and TB gaskets are recent.
I assume a compression test will tell me if I have a bad HG and if rings are bad?
My ACD pump went out years back. I sourced a working used one and have been good to go. Good luck with the rebuild and other car headaches, those kits were not out when I had a problem with mine.

Compression test will test CC area(hg, rings, tweaked valves). Leak down will be for seals.
I could of bought a used pump on Ebay for $550, or had ACD rebuild it for $599 or like I did and just buy the rebuild and tool kit for $419 shipped. Then have the testing tools for future use.
Also got the car back last night and it seems the triple ACD lights are now gone, maybe all the dealer had to do is reset the ACD ECU after the bleeding.
Rainy morning = Wavetrac feels awesome in the puddles.
So what exactly is your car doing? Pushing coolant, smoking, overheating?
If the car is not leaking, it would really not even go into "H" on a hot summer day even with NO FANS with a radiator and circulating 50/50 mixture. You are probably getting combustion gas into the cooling system making it difficult to circulate properly. I would do a gas test to the coolant and skip the leakdown or boost leak test..

They claim it was leak tested to 20 lbs. I said that I personally leak tested the car 3 times, once with Mark and could not get close to 20 lbs. The valve cover would pressurize to the point it was coming out oil cap or where I fixed leak with some sealant hissing like crazy. I ghetto fixed valve cover but bottom line the valve cover should not be pressurized my leak fix has nothing to do with that.
After I pointed out I leak tested it, showed mechanic how I did test and was told I did it correctly no answers.
Marc has nothing to do with it, shop owner can make it right.
Whatever, I am moving on. Car is going back to where I usually go, hopefully it can be diagnosed prior with a compression test. If no answer meaning not rings then we will move to leakdown test to see if its valve seals. I am just replacing water pump, has to be why car is all of a sudden overheating. The mechanic at RT said that upper and lower Radiator hose had same pressure and were hot, so thermostat is good which seems logical to me. I think I replaced thermostat 2 years ago, so less than a 1000 miles on it.
I had polite words with shop dude not owner on exactly that subject. I was charged for the boost leak test, told car was good, tested it myself and it was not good. Went back 3 more times and I have solved nothing but a leaky heater core hose.
Leaves me dissatisfied and looking like a POSER on PCD thread. Poser is the farthest thing from my reality, my ish talking is backed up (in this case eventually). I will be at the Glenn end of month -is that when you gays are going? I need link to send to Shoe, Team winning is vcoming to dominate. How does sharing a car work with run groups and getting seat time? Are we losing half our time? Shoe is more novice than me, but I need to get signed off. How long does that take? Should only take me one session, I drive the lines son!

Just hope if positive that it's only a HG and not the head..
