Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
All of you guys tuned by pete. Whats your fuel cut? Is an 8k rpm fuel cut realistic on the stock valvetrain? I dont see why 8k would be so bad on our rod/stroke ratio but I'm not so sure on the valvetrain.
Most of the guys on here are tuned by Pete, not everyone though. My car was tuned at CBRD, he set my fuel cut at 7780rpm I believe.
One of these days I need to get a fresh tune on my car, once I get these dang parts on...
In reference to what your asking I think valve float is the reasoning for not going over 8k, unless you have an upgraded valvetrain.

So on stock valvetrain = nono. Now that Im done with suspension/aethestics, id like to concentrate on engine modifications. Having owned the car since new, it has been stock this entire time. My goals are one thing, powerband. I want a broad one and a useable one. Not a 35r setup thatll hit peak boost at 5k+ and have only 2k rpms worth of useable power. I'm thinking a bbk full with the necessary supporting mods to rev it out to 8k. Seems like the bbk has stock spool but breaths better than the stocker in the 6-8k range. PUMP GAS ONLY! Stop trying to horde me to your e85 ways.
Oh boy, and I thought I was loosing out big time waiting for 2 years before I got a chance to do anything.
I like how you think.
I think the BBK will serve you right. It is by far the best combination of peak power and early spool for the CT9A evos.
Again, I like how clear-cut you are in your requirements. I see you don't want to give up your DD capability for a measly few HP.

not saying its a problem just because of the fact that its E-85. Its a royal PITA if you run out of E-85 and there's no stations nearby. A Pump gas tune to swap the maps would help, but its a hassle nonetheless. Like I said, I'd make the switch in a heartbeat if it was more abundant.
In my case, the fact that I have to drive through Delaware, MD and DC to go to VA every other weekend and that they don't have many stations either is enough to keep me away from E85. Don't get me wrong, I am all about the advantages E85 has to offer, but availability is an issue for me. I do drive a lot between states.

Me too and I frieking love it. The car has never felt faster and more drivable all around. Plus I have this strange urge to eat Chinese food everytime I floor it.
I have to BE THERE by 8?
