Yeah, it can get expensive if you add everything up. But you have to compare it with the cost of gauges, installation and a GPS unit together.
BTW, I really like the GPS. It actually shows buildings in 3D when you're close to downtown philly. I like that about it. Makes it easy to navigate. Map updates are available, but no live traffic.
Yes, it works for the RA as well. But you need to enable Mode23 in the ECU. I'll bring my netbook with me too just in case to CBP. You can see it in action in mine. I basically took a GTR layout and edited it with MS Paint to give all that I need. The device then simply overlays the numbers according to the positions specified in the template2.txt file. The organization is going to change soon. Hamish is working on building a Gauge builder for the Nav Unit. That dude works like 18 hours a day.

Did you know that a Minivan is also almost guaranteed even if its your first kid? I hate that kind of wasteful expenditure. I always make fun of my sister and sister-in-law for buying vans for no reason. There's no reason they wouldn't be safer in a sedan.

I'm late to the game but there is without a doubt, an airbag in the A-pillar. I treated that damn thing like a bomb when I installed Dans gauges. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. The EVOscan GPS setup is a really good deal considering all it comes with. My GPS doesn't hold a battery charge anymore and I'm considering getting it.
Just trying to catch up for today....
Agreed. I just wish some of these PS3 guys would turn down their rap music!
What are you running NASA or something with that thing?
Mine summer hour plan is pretty good too, except mine is every other Friday, and I get out at 1pm. Plenty of time to get out of work, wash the car, and head to Maple Grove for racing at 5pm on Friday nights.
I'm talking about the X's here.... but EcuTeck owned everything, and from what I believe, still does. That's not to say EcuFlash hasn't made up ground, because it has. But a year ago when we got tuned, EcuFlash couldn't stand next to EcuTeck. I can see where EcuFlash has some benefits, but I never plan on doing my own tuning, so I don't really care.
I don't see why I would want/need to go to EcuFlash at this point.
Same as my name here. catalystgod
pfffft....XBox is for kids on the verge of puberty. Too much trash talking and too many kids. Kills the enjoyment for me. I'm more for a mature experience. The PS3 is free online gaming and its too expensive for kids to have it, atleast it was. And no RROD for PS3.
my unit is 3 years old and still going strong.

If you want horsepower in a PC, I got a dual quad core (Total 8 core) Opteron Server with 16GB RAM at home that I built from scratch. I was really hoping NVidia's new cards would be good, but they turned out to be nothing more than room-heaters. I'm considering buying 2 of the older 2XX overclocked cards for SLI. Currently though, I run VMWare on it for running all my servers.

i thought those airbags only went off when an impact sensor was triggered and they couldn't go off by messing with them. Like the ones mounted in the steering wheel where the horn is, you can smack that horn around like it owes you $ and it won't pop the bag.
I have this. Is the LICP on the RA not as good as on the X? If memory serves me right, changing the Hotside to a hard pipe is what really matters. The LICP on the X is the cold pipe, and really doesn't matter if you change it or not.

Ha ha... stop hacking the hell out of that thing.

You almost got that. I donate a lot of processor cycles to Folding@HOME. My PS3 runs like crazy crunching numbers for the university. The dual Nvidia SLI will do numbercrunching several times faster. Its my way of contributing to society.
Well, just check the evoscan gps thing I posted, you cannot get it to work with EcuTek. That's reason enough for me to stay away from proprietary technologies that lock us up .....cough.....apple....cough. Granted I did not know at the time that this device would be available, but its the anticipation that something good will come out of it if enough of the community supports it. And that's the reason I support the gps thing so much by posting templates and gauge layouts.
But then again, I want know the intricacies of tuning. I really do, and that was the reason I stuck to opensource.
I dont know what you mean by "Ecutek owns everything". Can you please elaborate? Majority of the Evo X owners today use Cobb or ECUFlash, and Cobb is dying out too. They simply cannot match the feature-set.
By going opensource, if you ever have new parts that need tuned, you do not need to look for an EcuTek authorized dealer. You can even get remote tunes. If you have more mods planned in the future, going EcuTek will prove pointless. I think you'll be better off going opensource even if you're not interested in tuning.
EDIT: Thanks Dan for pointing out. I understand how my above comments might have sounded inappropriate, it was unintended. It was merely an honest opinion stated more strongly than it should've been. Consider it my shortcoming in terms of online etiquette.

I'm sorry, I forget how geeky I can get sometimes. I'll send you my number by PM so we can talk. It'll be easier than to type the whole damn thing.
BBQ, BEER, hard liquor, loose women and anything else that doesn't get us kicked out, ticketed, or cops called on is fine.
I will PM with details on the price per head depending on the number of folks who commit.
