i was seeing this patient on tuesday that wasn't doing well and needed to have some nasotracheal suctioning and i told the nurse i'd do it but it was like " no biggie!" so i let him do it and the guy vasovagal'd and we called a code and he died right there. not cool.

No, what I was saying was that I was seeing a patient who wasn't doing too well that needed to be suctioned (that involves a catheter being passed through the nose and into tue trachea. It's fairly rountine in that situation but invasive and unpleasant for the patient). The nurse was busy and they guy was blue so I offered to do it since i was in there but the nurse was like "no I'll do it." and when he did the patient had a vasovagal response and couldn't be stabilized and died.

What I was saying was that I am glad I wasn't the one who was doing this routine procedure. Thank god I wasn't!!!
