so what type of 02 housings are everybody running? I figure if im going to be in there replacing the sensor i might as well throw a better flowing housing in at the same time (if I can afford it). opinions? i dont think anyone around us is running a dump, but nice to hear opinions on other options.
why is everyone so darn quiet wtf

hey chu, thanks for the comment smarta$$. i was looking more for specifics like where on the 02 housing, underside, left, right, easy to see, stuff like that. ya big jerk
josh thanks for the heads up. youve been running it without any problems? the OEM is stupid expensive so another alternative would be great. thanks for the link bud!

I really wouldn't bother with an O2 housing unless you want it to look pretty. They add very little power at all and it's not worth the expense IMO unless you do the dumped version. It can be a big PITA to get the housing in and out without removing the turbo completely, and there's always the possibility of breaking bolts off in the turbo. Not fun.A guy I work with got his Stang flashed yesterday at a place in Coatesville. He used some store bought programmer (diablo maybe), the car is an 99' (auto), intake, cat-back, I think thats it... His baseline pull was 308whp, all said and done he made 397whp, no torque reading apparently, in 1hr dyno time and only cost $75. He's all happy about it and I hate to rain on his parade but there is NO WAY!
I'm gonna get them to tune my car!
I told him we need to go to the track so he can back that number up with a trap speed, 400whp should trap what 115mph?

josh thanks for the input. those were my thoughts exactly. i just wasnt sure how much of a PITA the 02 sensor was to put in. if i was going to pull the hotside of the turbo to put the 02 sensor on, i might as well throw an 02 housing or better yet a dump at the same time. but if its easy to do the sensor swap, then I dont feel like pulling the turbo just for a few extra ponies.
No problems at all. It works great. I put one in Carsons car and mine and Chu has one too. It's the same sensor but doesn't come with Mitsubishi's proprietary connector.
Some of us have to work.

I call shenanigans! There is no F'n way a 4.6L Mustang makes those numbers with those mods. I've seen supercharged Mustangs make that power or naws but not intake and exhaust.

I have a Bosch universal as Josh said. What I did was cut off the bad sensor, and spliced it to the oem connector, so it remains a plug-in with the original harness. Knowing Josh, he prolly did the same. Very easy to do. There's a wiring diagram in the how-to section so you know how the wiring goes. Worked perfect since the day I did it. My rear o2 sensor was also spliced in, although it's an oem unit for a IX...difference connectors than an VIII
As for the 02 housing, I'm also running a Megan. It came with the IX turbo that I bought. I ported the hole on the inside out like everyone discuss so it flows better. Been working great so far. A cheap one is about $100 tops. If you have the loot, I like the Titek V2 housing...or as Modern Automotive Performance claims, is the MAP housing (...and I paraphrase...You'd be suprised how many parts are made in the same factory)

I would have to disagree with you two. there is a performance gain to be had by switching to an aftermarket o2. When I had the 9.8 hotside on my VIII, and installed the ebay o2, I saw gains at the drag strip. I was also able to run more timing & boost due to there being less of a restriction. Its not an end all be all mod, but for $75 or whatever they go for its an excellent value.
Install really isn't that bad either. Use PB blaster on all the bolts when removing them and you shouldn't have any problems. Just put high-temp anti-sieze (copper or nickle) on all the bolts when you reinstall and you'll be fine if you ever have to get in there again.

^ Knowing Ryans success rate (no offense to you Ryan, I'm certainly no better) I would have to say to skip that mod for the time being... I'm not saying its not worth doing, just not worth doing right now.
haha none taken pete. at least if i try this, i wont be all doped up on pain meds so maybe i can think clearly. think i might just save the money, and possible headache for the time being and do it later when I actually have some money and a free weekend to do it.
Yes, they are kouki lights. Kouki in Japanese means late model. I will get some wheels on this bad boy but first I need to upgrade to 5 lugs. The primer/drift bandwagon came and went. Good thing I never hopped on.
